Curated a data strategy working closely with sourcing managers and technology specialists in a wide variety of areas including IT equipment, software, licences, managed services and other corporate and professional services. Providing insights from a plethora of data from disparate sources.

Worked extensively on benchmarking resource rates by standardizing and harmonizing both internal and external data sources for a complete should-cost analysis. Created dashboards and visualizations for an effective data-driven negotiation strategy. On track to help achieve $3MM cost savings (productivity, value) in 2020.  

Championed and liaised with the analytics team to fix and improve the reporting and dashboarding.  
Mobilized cash of at least $8MM in Q1 2020 by fixing the reporting errors and improving data quality. 

Formulated and designed advanced Tableau dashboards to help company-wide sourcing teams deep dive into financial KPIs including invoice payment statistics, payment terms variance. 

Other activities include, parametric bidding analysis, support and alignment on AC creation, using advanced data science tools to extract information from contracts and invoices.

Worked in collaboration with a team of 5 data scientists to automate the analysis and understanding of legal contracts
Responsibilities:
▪ Using computer vision and machine learning tools to detect if contracts are signed or not (Python, Keras, OpenCV, SQL)
▪ Ensuring legal documents remain encrypted and safe on AWS servers during the entire
development, training and deployment process
▪ Communicating results and liaising with management and team members using Slack, Google meet etc.
▪ Modifying an existing web annotation tool and deployed it on a AWS server for attorneys to use to tag data (Flask, HTML and JS)
▪ Communicating and collaborating with attorneys to tag contract images

Data Science consultant

Provided data science and analytics services to private sector clients from various fields including healthcare, transport and AI startups.

A key highlight was working on a Diabetic Retinopathy Segmentation Problem. 
Retinal scans of patients with diabetes have smudges called exudates.  The task was to train a segmentation model that identified the exudates.
It was a challenge to work with a limited dataset ~200 images and the accuracy requirement was quite high (DICE > 0.8). I managed to develop and deliver a fully documented working prototype segmentation model (U-Net) using Keras that achieved the accuracy requirements.

Data Science Society

The challenge was to identify if a page in scanned receipts is an invoice or not. I used Python and learned a lot about text handling during the datathon.
- Tesseract to OCR the PDF and extract text
- Pandas for data processing
- NLTK for word tokenization
- scikit-learn for TF-IDF and training a random forest classifier
