Keep Calm and Chiffon™️

I started my personal style blog, Keep Calm and Chiffon™️ in 2012 and since my launch, I have found my voice as a writer, developed skills in photo editing and blog design and connected with other bloggers across the globe. I create unique fashion, beauty, lifestyle, travel and career content and by blog has received press from The Cut, Self Magazine, The New York Times, and Teen Vogue. I believe that intersection between writing, styling and the digital world is where my true passion lies and this blog has allowed me to further develop my skills in all three.

Jumprope

Jumprope was a place where you could learn how to do anything. As our beauty content director I oversaw our community of beauty, fashion and lifestyle creators and assisted them with onboarding, content planning, and best practices for creating successful content and building a following on Jumprope. Some of my projects at Jumprope included:
- Identifying quality creators and converting them into repeat users on the platform
- Hosting large-scale in-person and virtual events to engage the creator community
- Launching the Jumprope blog and contributing original posts
- Creating 50+ videos for the Jumprope Tips section of the app
- Launching and scaling an ambassador program for micro-influencers
- Managing the @letsjumprope and @jumpropebeauty Instagram accounts
- Running creator outreach on Clubhouse as a form of lead generation
- Assisting beauty brands and agencies that are interested in leveraging Jumprope

Interview Magazine

As a print editor, I worked with our editorial team on all components of producing a magazine from research and coordinating photo shoots, to writing and editing copy. I also regularly contributed fashion content for our website, from designer interviews to a weekly series I launched called Clothes on Film, which highlighted iconic outfits from TV and movies and examined their cultural impact.

As assistant editor, I oversaw all elements of the fashion news and art sections (pitching, assigning, writing and top-editing) and circulated front-of-book pages such as the table of contents, masthead, behind the scenes, contributors, letters and house ads. I also line edited copy, contributed weekly articles to the website, conducted on-camera interviews with celebrities, assisted senior editors and hired and managed the print editorial interns.

In this role at NYLON, I pitched and wrote content for the magazine, circulated pages through the editorial staff, wrote FOB credits, and provided general assistance to the editorial team. I also supervised the print editorial interns, managed invoices, and contributed to the website in addition to syndicating in-book content to online.

New York Magazine

As an online intern for New York Magazine, I assisted the editors of The Cut, Vulture, Grub Street, and Select All. I attended events on behalf of the magazine including red carpets, wrote for the website, and helped schedule New York Fashion Week. I did research for editors, transcribed interviews, and built posts in CQ (CMS).

In this role I assisted with making and installing seasonal display pieces, created content for social media shared on Instagram and Facebook and developed skills in personal shopping to help customers find pieces they'll love. I also honed my retail skills such as loss prevention, customer service, product knowledge, shipment processing, organization of fitting rooms, mastering cash register functions, and maintaining standards on the sales floor.

In this position, I assisted the fashion and beauty editors at Cosmopolitan.com. I wrote several pieces for the site and built articles in RAMS (CMS). I pitched content daily to the Facebook Beauty & Style page and helped the page grow from 800 likes in May to 60K likes in August. Other responsibilities included sample trafficking, closet organization, writing fashion credits, photo research, as well as on set assistance for photo and video shoots.

Intern to Senior Market Editors Rae Boxer and Jessica Minkoff. Worked on the set of the October cover shoot. Attended editor's market appointments. Organized editor's contacts and schedule. Helped coordinate editors invitations and schedules for New York Fashion Week. Created reference materials for future interns. Daily tasks included requesting looks for photo shoots, clothing check-ins and returns, closet maintenance and organization, creating and updating storyboards of requested looks and updating market appointment books.
