Have you ever tried to get people excited about manual labor? 🔨

At the BMI, we made often overlooked pieces of history feel tangible and relevant to thousands of people. 

By taking them through the everyday lives of factory workers, canners, typists, longshoremen, and shuckers, we were able to create a link between past and present in an entertaining and educational way. 

I led tours, facilitated STEM projects and helped produce special events for visitors of all ages and demographics.

Museum of the American Gangster 

Provided an in-depth look at the rise of organized crime in an entertaining and educational manner for tours of up to 30 people at a time. Created updated tour script with sources for new hires.  Oversaw Front Desk, POS transactions and administrative responsibilities.

One time an older Italian man scheduled an early-morning private tour for him and his teenage grandson. This man had walked straight out of a Martin Scorsese movie. I started getting into the partnership between Lucky Luciano and Meyer Lansky when the grandson glanced at his phone. Grandpa smacked him on the back of his head, "Pay attention! This is our history!" Good tippers those guys.

Organized and skillfully produced an entertaining and often standing room only weekly pub quiz. Increased sales for the host bar by expanding outreach through advertising and social media. 

You want fast-paced and dynamic? Try adding up 16 teams' scores on an Excel sheet while simultaneously announcing the correct answers of the previous round over a rowdy crowd. God it was fun.

QED Theater

Autonomously acted as liaison between show producers, performers, and theater management to ensure that productions ran in a timely manner and performers were compensated correctly. Oversaw guest services by addressing and solving any theater-related issues.

I also got to announce acts, write the schedule on the marquee and take out the trash!
