A few weeks back, I got an opportunity to attend the Doctors AI Global Summit 2025 in Bengaluru. A lot happened during those full-packed and fast-paced two days, but a few moments stayed with me.

I chaired a keynote session with my good friend Dr Sanjay. The session comprised of excellent talks by Dr. Phaneendra, Dr Deepti and Dr Ruchi.

I helped coordinate the ICAIM AI workshop and gave a hands-on demo on practical usage of AI tools with an excellent team — Dr. Atul (co-coordinator), Anirudh (moderator), Dr Wahid, Dr Deepak, Dr Harsh, Dr. Rakesh, and others.

I joined a panel discussion on the future of AI in healthcare with fellow speakers - Dr Hossam, Dr Rameshwar, Dr. Aishwarya, and others.

I met many people I had only known through profile photos or Zoom meetings. Some were entirely new connections, and some were colleagues I met after long intervals. It was also good to meet students from both CCAIM batches whom I had taught earlier. 

It was great catching up with Dr Suvrankar, Mr Bharat, Dr Ashok, Dr SOMASHEKAR, Dr Siddiq, Anirudha, T. Naveen Keerthi, Dr Haarika, Dr. PRASAD RAJHANS, Dr Utso, Tijo, Dr Dev, Dr hitesh, Dr Srinivas, Dr. Neelesh, Parul, Dr Jyoti, Karthik, Dr Aswathy, Dr Charushree, Dr Prafull, Dr Angeline, and many others.

Another meaningful moment was the AI textbook release, and seeing the two chapters I contributed — one each with my father Dr Ashok Kumar Khare, and my mentee Anirudh Gangadharan.

Some reflections from the discussions at the event that stood out:

•⁠ ⁠AI in healthcare is steadily entering day-to-day clinical practice.
•⁠ ⁠Clinicians don’t need to become technical specialists (good to have skill), but they do need clear understanding of where and how these tools help (must have skill).
•⁠ ⁠Collaboration across clinical, technical, and research domains strengthens patient care.
•⁠ ⁠Continuous learning in AI and emerging tech keeps clinicians prepared as medicine becomes more data-aware and digitally supported.
•⁠ ⁠In-person conversations build trust and insight that complement every other form of learning for us as human beings.
