I used to think Pesach was 8 days!!


Now I realize that the amount of days is however many the wife says! 😆 The longest Pesach!

Here I am yesterday eating outside. At least was a gorgeous day. There are areas I can eat inside still but have to be super-careful.

Once the kitchen is getting cleaned, watch out!l

The main thing is, do whatever your spouse says! If they are working hard cleaning, they call the shots. Even if that means Pesach is 2 weeks! ( more 🥡. The diet starts after Pesach 😳

Do your kids cooperate with all the changes, busyness and sometimes, less eating and food options available? Your spouse?

Well, I guess burnout is a real thing. 😞

No therapist will admit it but when you start to feel impatient in session, not being all in, spacing out a bit, not a good thing.

My clients deserve the best and certainly not on them. But this is an emotionally draining job and it’s not meant to do it for 30 years.

So there’s this job that sounds pretty good. Going around and trying out restaurants, rating them, posting about it on social media. Doing podcasts about it. Sort of what Eli Weber does but just doing it full time.

Being able to combine my love for food, drink, commutation and social media. And the pay is very good.















Just kidding!!!! 😆🤡😊 Happy delayed April Fool’s day! I don’t usually celebrate it but couldn’t resist. Inspired by all the good ones yesterday. But to do it actually on April 1st?! For real? How boring is that!! 

The truth is I’m more passionate about therapy than ever. Absolutely love it. Enjoy my clients to no end. I feel I have the best job in the world.

Hobbies are great. Food, etc. Enjoy! And as I recently posted, burnout is real. But doesn’t usually mean drastic life changes. Breaks, mix it up.

It’s amazing how our perspective can change in one minute. Same person, huge difference!

You pass a plumber on the street. Don’t think much of him. You find out there’s a flood in your house. Emergency 🆘!! All of the sudden must get hold of that guy! Please answer, please come! Any price. If he comes and fixes, he’s a hero.

You see a fellow. Doesn’t look particularly impressive. Maybe even you have a judgemental thought about his driving. All of the sudden someone has a medical emergency and you realize he is a paramedic, he’s Hatzalah. Hero!! Selfless. Amazing person.

You see a lady walking in the street. Doesn’t look all that impressive. Then you realize she is a famed Teacher! Known for her dedication to her students, her love for them. She is a leader, a hero. A role model.

Many lessons that can learn from this. One takeaway: try to treat people with respect. Realize they are hardworking people and very possibly helpers in some way. Don’t wait until you need them or realize. 

And certainly try to refrain from judging them!
Remember: perspective can change in a second…

I have a bit of a different take on the whole $5.00 coffee thing. 

I’m all for it! 

Don’t buy 5 a day and don’t extend the habit across the board but as an occasional treat? Absolutely.

I look at it that 99%of my expenses are set and non-negotiable, a coffee or something similar is one thing I can afford! Better that than spending $1500 on a car lease, which unfortunately many people do and don’t have the funds.

I say everything in moderation. Enjoy life! Treat yourself every now and then. Engage in self-care. 

What’s your thoughts? Save and scrimp ( “ I can make a coffee at home and save the money” And “ Why should I spend my money when over the course of my life can save a few thousand dollars “!).   Or enjoy life a little! Indulge every now and then.

Pesach!! 

It’s not a word, It’s a world!

Do you look forward to Pesach? Dread it? Wish you could fast forward the weeks leading up to it and just show up by the Seder!

One thing we can all agree is our thoughts, emotions and relationships are all important things to be attuned to these weeks.

Let’s be honest. 

It’s hard to get views on social media. The competition is fierce. People are busy. 

Whether LinkedIn, YouTube, instagram, very hard to break in.

What to do 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♀️

Here’s what NOT to do! Don’t do outlandish things to stick out. Don’t compromise on your values to get a few views.

Don’t write posts complaining that you’re not getting views or blaming this or that.

What you SHOULD do: Be yourself. Be genuine. And post interesting and helpful content. If you do that, you will be fine. And will get exactly what you are supposed to.

Or ask someone to help you out :)

If you’re a therapist and don’t do at least one post about the 4 sons and some kind of psychological insight, are you even a therapist?? 😆😄

The beautiful thing about the Haggadah is how deep it is and how you can learn it for weeks and will never finish, there are so many commentaries.

In the coming few days I’m going to try to share at least one post or video about the 4 sons or about the dialectical aspect of Pesach.

It’s an amazing Yom Tov and lessons galore.

These are some questions I get on a daily basis: What should I do when my child is having a tantrum?

How do I stay calm during morning routine/bedtime routine?

How can I get rid of anxiety/depression/obsessive thoughts?

Tell me how to have better time management, procrastinate less, improve executive functioning.

I struggle with pornography, what should I do?

How can I be less addicted to my phone?

What does Yidishkeit say about my chronic mental health issues, chronic pain, how can I cope, not be resentful?

And this is just a small sampling! One thing is for sure. We never know what’s coming in this line of work. It is certainly an interesting job!

Lots of room to be creative, help, use and access tons of high level thought process and intellectual, problem solving and so much more.

Pesach inspiration for anyone and for the whole year!!

In Mitzrayim we were on very low spiritual level, really struggling. Wasn’t looking good.

And then suddenly, in one instant we were pulled out, we were redeemed! 

No matter how much a person is struggling, can change in an instant. A person can merit inner redemption and repentance on a personal level.

Can merit our very own going out of Mitzrayim, our own personal leaving Egypt!

Would you drive blindfolded at 95 MPH?

Sometimes it’s very hard to be mindful. Dealing with very difficult emotions can be torturous.

So tempting to just fight it, suppress it. If can’t stand the view, much easier to just keep eyes closed.

But then more likely to crash! If eyes are open and can see where going, even if you don’t like the view, at least can navigate and see where you’re going.

Choosing not to be mindful can be like walking with your eyes closed, like driving blindfolded.
Not great!

As we go into the weekend practice living with your eyes wide open. Observing, noticing, being curious. Choose to be mindful!!

And you will find will be more effective and meaningful life.
