After 8 years as a management consultant, working across the UK, Middle East, and US, Ayomi discovered her passion for the Creator Economy during the pandemic, when she joined TikTok's Communications team and went on to become the Global Head of Internal Communications.

She is now a full-time founder building in the Creator Economy space and is a part-time TikTok Creator, who has been featured in Business Insider 5x as both a Founder and Creator. 

Ayomi is a committed Diversity & Inclusion advocate and provides free career mentoring calls, focused on Women of Color, to her global TikTok community.

Even though the Creator industry has evolved so much in the past few years, so much information is unfortunately kept locked away in a black box - putting Creators at a disadvantage when it comes to knowing their worth and negotiating their rates, amongst other things. 

I always say to Creators that they need to have a suite of tools to help them build a career from content. From help with brand pitching (July) to pay transparency (Clara For Creators) to selling digital products (Beacons). But one thing that is often overlooked is finding your people. I learnt first hand that it's a lonely path trying to turn your side hustle into your full time career and the difference between giving up and sticking with it can be as simple as getting access to information and being part of a community - one that cheers you on and supports you along the way, enter Canopy .  

Just this month I've seen Creators in the Canopy app: 

⭐ Share brand contact details with each other
⭐ Help someone negotiate a 20% bump on a brand deal 
⭐ Help someone draft a message to turn down a brand that wasn't a good fit
⭐ Put someone in touch with the IG team to get their account unblocked
