2023: I came online to build my brand.

After 3 months of building on Twitter. I met a client who sacked me after 3 months.

Not because I wasn't good at what he hired me for but because he thought I have more potential.

Then, he said to me 'James, I want you to stop building my dream. Go and build your own dream'

My friend was earning ₦450K monthly at his 9-5 job. 

Good salary for a single guy I will say 🤷‍♂️

At least, he was comfortable but not satisfied.

Then one day, the CEO of the company called him:

Just in a minute, all his plan for his next 3 months salary became an illusion.

Here is my exact $2000 blueprint:

1. Profile Optimization.

- Your profile must be visible. 
- Your profile must be simple. 
- Your profile must serve as a landing page.

Be sure your profile is 100% optimized.

2. Content Creation.

No one sees your profile if you don't write.
Even if your profile is 100% optimized.

Create content around your:

- Struggles 
- Failures 
- Wins 

Just keep writing quality content.

3. Network With People.

B2C -  ❌❌ 
B2B -  ❌❌ 
H2H - ✅✅ 
P2P -  ✅✅

People buy from people, not bots.

Send personalized invites to your potential client every day.

There is no way you won't land a client in 30 days.

4. Go On Sales Calls.

- Explain your service. 
- Solve their problems. 
- Sell your solutions.

Don't undercharge! Charge your worth.

5. Under Promise, Over Deliver.

Once you get a client. Don't look for the second.. 

Make sure you give them the best service.

You will get more referrals from your clients.

I fired 2 clients for a reason yesterday.

(Do the same if you have such clients) 

I started working with these clients to help them grow their brand. 

They loved my work from the start. 

However, 

These clients were 'Oliver Twist’. Always asking for more. 

Hey James, can you help write my email? 
Hey James, can you rewrite my sales page? 
Hey James, can you review my website blogs? 

These are typical examples of messages I get from them frequently. 

They required meetings for minor details. 
(I still catered despite my busy schedule.) 

They demand extra revisions on content. 
(I didn't mind as client satisfaction is my #1 priority.) 

They were paying lower than my usual rates. 
(I still worked because I was helping a startup.) 

Then why did I leave the project? Disrespect. 

I could sense disrespect in the tone every time. 

At last, I couldn't take it anymore and politely asked ‘the clients’ to look for another writer to help them. 

Lesson:

- Don't take disrespect from anyone because of money. 
- Low ticket clients come with more baggage, ditch them. 
- Always know when to say NO & STOP a project.
