Hi, and welcome to my LinkedIn! I am a Psychology major with minors in creative writing, childhood education, and Spanish. I graduated in May 2022. My long-term goals in 5 years are to have my Master's in Mental Health Counseling with a Post-Masters advanced certificate in LGBTQ Health, Education, and Social Services. In 10 years, my long-term goals are to be in a practice that upholds values and gives back to the New York City community differently. After that, it's enough of my own experience to open my practice in New York, California, and places that do not have mental health care for LGBTQ+ youth, people with disabilities, and people who need mental health support. My calling in life is to help people of different ages and backgrounds. I especially want to work with children and teenagers and work my way up to adults. I chose to pursue my bachelor's degree in psychology because mental health became a stigma in my Afro-Latinx community and America, growing up around something that affected me. In my volunteer experience at New York-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health Center, I assisted patients with activities of daily living. I interacted with the patient population on a one-to-one basis and in small group settings. In addition, I participated in therapeutic activities – group and single. Finally, I participated in and assisted with patient groups. Skills: English fluently and Spanish Intermediately. Technical skills: Canvas, Microsoft Office, Google Classroom, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and Gmail.
