Happens way to often. How technical knowledge will never be sufficient without full understanding! That comes only with experience.

The incident took place in 1993 at a Toronto law firm during a discussion with students. Gary
Hoy, a lawyer known for demonstrating the strength of his office building’s windows, claimed the
glass was unbreakable.
To prove his point, he ran at the window and collided with it at full force. The glass itself did not
shatter. Instead, the entire window frame detached from the building. Hoy fell from the upper
floors and died as a result of the fall.
The story became widely known because of its narrow technicality. The claim about the glass
was correct. The assumption about everything holding it in place was not.
There was no evidence of recklessness intended to entertain. It was meant to be a
demonstration of safety and design, performed with confidence based on past demonstrations
where the window had held.
The building itself passed code. The materials performed as tested. One overlooked variable
changed the outcome entirely.
The glass stayed intact.
The frame did not.
The lesson arrived immediately.
It remains a frequently cited example of how being technically right can still be catastrophically
incomplete.
