This can't go on, something needs to change!!! Don't read on, unless you have the courage to take a good look at yourself and want to change your life for the better. So I think I had a pretty good run in my corporate life working for different multinational corporations in the pharmaceutical industry as a manager and then a leader. I got to work on some cool global and team projects, launching breakthrough treatments that would help people live better and longer lives. From helping people get over their Addictions to living with HIV and Multiple Sclerosis I had it covered. 28 years is a long time and I felt I was able to contribute to bringing many (50+) wonderful and incredible life-changing treatments for patients, caregivers, healthcare providers and healthcare systems. I particularly enjoyed applying my caring attitude to the people I was working with, after all, Love, Kindness, and Gratitude are my values. For years I felt I was learning a lot, travelling the world, and growing as a person and a leader. I felt connected and valued. I felt my work had meaning. Until I started waking up suddenly at 4 am, a startled sweaty mess. Do you know what was racing through my mind at 4 am? “I don’t have what it takes", "I’m not good enough”. And as the anxiety was building, the self-esteem was weaning. I started feeling overwhelmed. I started becoming miserable. I felt I was failing my team. I felt I was failing my husband and my kids. I felt I was failing everybody. It never even occurred to me I could be failing myself. What had me in such a spin? Maybe the constant restructuring? Maybe the speed at which I was living life? I know, and if we ever get a chance to connect, I’ll share it with you but for now suffice it to say I realized I had come to the end of a chapter and I had no clue how to bounce back and move beyond. I took the leap and invested in myself by getting a coach. I feasted on personal development courses and certifications. I put myself through an intense journey of self-discovery and accelerated reawakening. And here I am.
