Dad always told me growing up that I would one day write a book. And I always replied, oh hells no. 

You see my dad loved writing with his whole heart. I would hear him constantly typing away on his old school typewriter in his office across the hall from my room. I’d curiously peek in to see bottles of white out and stacks of papers strewn everywhere. He typed only with his two index fingers at a remarkably quick pace for only using 20% of his finger capacity.

He worked the night shift at a juvenile detention facility and as a book buyer and tried to write during the day. He finally published his first book in adventure fantasy for young adults with a traditional publisher after decades of trying to get published when I was 13, but struggled mightily to sell more than a handful of copies. He gave away infinitely more than he ever sold.

Growing up he’d pass out printed flyers to waiters, drive thru attendants at McDonald’s, and pretty much anyone to get the word out, much to the family’s protest and my teenage embarrassment. (I SO get it now dad).

He wanted to be a writer with his whole soul but struggled to make it work financially after self-publishing three more books in his lifetime with very few sales. Write a book? Why would I put myself through what dear ‘ole dad went through?

Little did I know… it would take losing him, and him coming to me after death to FINALLY convince me to write a book. He’s persistent, I’ll give him that. I couldn’t be more grateful for the gift he gave me and for our soul connection. 

Forever grateful, dad. Love you to the moon and back. This book isn’t just mine, it’s forever ours.✨

So this is another little flyer in my corner of the immensely vast interwebs. 

To be vulnerable, I got a little bit down on myself earlier in the week comparing myself to others investing tens of thousands to get more exposure and hit bigger bestseller lists, but then remembered to be present with the wins of these first thoughtful reviews and hitting bestseller on Amazon for launch week in two categories which all feels wonderful! And in this moment, I’m proud of the book and it is enough.

Can’t believe I’m on Audible!! So excited to share my first audiobook is live!!! Eeek! 

I thought simply writing a book this vulnerable was challenging… I certainly didn’t envision that upon writing some of my most raw, real, heartbreaking, and also insanely beautiful life moments that at some point I’d be acting out every single one them… with multiple retakes. Gah.

I have admit this was one of those most challenging, yet deeply rewarding parts of this new writer journey. It took 9 days of studio time recording 4-5 hours a day to get the finished edited audiobook. I thought I had no tears left, but alas, I was wrong haha.

Fortunately Jake Johnson with Paradyme Productions is a total gem. You made me feel so totally at ease right at day one, that’s a rare gift. I know I was guided to you and I can’t thank you enough for your help bringing this story and my voice to life!!  I’m so happy with how it turned out. Thank you!!🙏🏼
