Ben M Collins is an editorial and commercial photographer available for commission with a focus on music, outdoor, adventure, and conservation photography. (Okay, enough of the third person...) My passion for storytelling was sparked at a young age, creating imaginary worlds with friends and finding ways to frame them through a lens. Stamping them as reality became the conduit through which I would develop my craft in my youth. With video as my medium, I immersed myself in practice, following leads that were presented to places near and far. I carried with me a constant desire to translate life through my camera. As I grew so did I evolve, finding solace in the still frames life offers when we slow down. I focused solely on capturing moments by frame rather than reel, latching on to the feelings connected with the people and practices that inspired me. I created a niche aesthetic by drawing lines of parallel between my life, my emotions, and that of my subjects. Drawn to music, I focused on the stage finding new ways to freeze drama in time and share with the world the depth of emotion exuded through live performance. Although my muse is music, I delight in the practice of capturing the beauty of life as it’s lived in all forms. I continue to expand my portfolio as I evolve, hoping to evoke emotion through my catalog while learning from those with whom I share space and who allow me to point my lens in their direction. My evolution has brought with it a wanderlust. I seek to explore, wandering with those who inspire me to capture the beauty of the unknown that only presents itself when we step outside our comfort zone.
