e-Mission Control

Worked with our largest client on project deployment and revenue strategy. Focus was on long-term contracts that had regulatory variability. Board requests, deployment timelines, operational capacity, databases management and product deployment too. Completed Product Management certification via AIPMM as part of this work.

Sr. Project Manager

Was a direct liaison between CARB and clients as well as other regulatory agencies in California, Oregon, Washington state, British Columbia and Canada - with a muted role in Canada.  I was also part of a team who followed utility, regulatory and legislative acitivities in all 50 states. 

Spent 1/3rd of the time in this role researching and connecting to OEMs, starategic partners, non-profits and potential channel partners to see if they would be a good fit. The other 2/3rds of the time was spent in conversations with municipalities, transit agencies, for-profit, non-profit companies and Tribes who needed support and information about funding, technology and regulatory aspects coming down the pipeline so they could make good business decisions.

Worked in a consulting capacity with a variety of small, mid-sized, and large clients, including public companies, to develop actionable strategies for improved efficiency, effectiveness, and overall welfare of the company. Developed protocols and tools for companies in their workflows that utilize technology, design, wellness, and a myriad of small-scale interventions to tip the scales gently in a direction of simplicity, collaboration, and ease.

- It's kind of tough to look at outcome/deliverables when it comes to coaching.. is it the increase in company value over time? The well-being of the team members? I can only state what my intentions were. The benefit and liberation of all beings. I'll leave it to you all, to let me know if I managed to do anything helpful there.

Started-up a new law firm, advisory firm & accountancy in Mumbai, India in February of 2010, a rare addition to the law fraternity of India. Beginning from scratch, the fledgling practice provided international businesses and non-profits help in areas ranging from tax and banking, land law, corporate structuring, negotiations, contract law and compliance. I acted as the General Manager of the law firm, shaping the fundamental processes and goals of the firm during my time there. My responsibilities included drafting legal documents including incorporating documents, leases, wills & tax filings. Additionally I was made responsible for HR, operations, client relations and managing negotiations of complex cross-border, multi-party deals.

Virgance

Authored clean tech articles about new and improved technologies under Virgance's 'GO Media'. Attended major conferences and met leaders in Silicon Valley IT, tech, law and Investment banking/venture capital. Wrote additional pieces for leaders in the field looking for a novel way of viewing their industry.

-Authored an article on micro-grids that some entrepreneurs told me reframed their thinking about their company. 

-Authored a post on women's entrepreneurship giving me all access into one of the first all-female events in Silicon Valley.

-Spoke regularly with venture capitalists about their dealflow and made connections to the benefit of both entrepreneur & investor in many different ways; led to millions of dollars in allocated assets.

World Food Programme

Worked in the Office of the Executive Director. Various projects related to fundraising, accounting, organisational management and personell.

- Found funding gaps in ~15 member nation's allocations and presented them up the chain of command.

- Helped on, and was featured in, one of the first major U.N. social media campaigns for fundraising.

- Collaborated with many of the highest level members of the department of the Executive Director and visited with European Commission representatives involved in aid dispersal.

City and County of San Francisco

Project Managed part of the Mayor's backpack giveaway by integrating city, non-profit, company and volunteer resources to carry out attainment of needs within some of the city's poorest neighborhoods.

-Liaised with community leaders of the hardest hit neighborhoods of San Francisco with regard to under-funding, gang activity and access to city services. 

-Project managed backpack giveaway in Visitation Valley including being on call for connecting private sector partners, City Council members, press and the Mayor. 

-Direct contact to provide services to all layers of city's population; from chronically homeless people to dignitaries.

Jeffrey Berlin has over 15 years of experience helping companies grow in various industries worldwide. He has worked in policy at the United Nations, San Francisco Mayor Newsom's office, and a law firm specializing in cross-border deals. His skills include change management, environmental program implementation, and strategic planning. Jeff has a B.A. in American Studies from the University of California at Berkeley and an MSc in Global Politics from The London School of Economics and Political Science. He is the owner and principal consultant at JJ Berlin Consulting, where he focuses on facilitating positive change in individuals, teams, organizations, and communities. Jeff is also an organizational development consultant, and a certified Product Manager.
