Boundless Creativity by Big Al Gruswitz

Under the name Boundless Creativity, Big Al is well known in the advertising industry for doing high-quality, photo-realistic illustration in both 3D and 2D, difficult photo retouching, and is often consulted when multiple disciplines are needed to complete a project.

Art directors find it unique to work with an illustrator and retoucher who thinks like an art director. He understands the concepts they're trying to communicate. He works with them to make sure the art does everything it can to enhance their concept.

During this period, Big Al worked as a freelance art director. The first two and a half years he continued freelance at Saatchi & Saatchi, where he had been on staff, working on a variety of accounts including Rogaine, Prostep, and Pravachol. Additionally, he worked at a variety of medical ad agencies in NYC until in January, 1994 he formed Boundless Creativity.

Saatchi & Saatchi

With 58 years experience in advertising, Big Al has held staff positions at several major agencies as an art director and associate creative director. Agencies include in part, Campbell Ewald (Chevrolet) and Saatchi & Saatchi (Duncan Hines, Tide, Crisco Oil and Shortening, Pert Shampoo, Tylenol, Slim Fast, Dexatrim, New York Life, and others). 

While at Saatchi & Saatchi, he was asked to start the Consumer Division at their medical agency, Klemtner Advertising where he won and launched the Rogaine account. He was responsible for the consumer, medical, and international launch of that brand. Other brands of note at Klemtner include ProStep nicotine patch, Pravachol, and The Epilepsy Foundation of America (public service campaigns). He has won numerous awards for creative excellence and high readership.

Selected by Lürzer's Int'l Archive for the 2013, 2021, and 2023 "200 Best Digital Artists Worldwide" Annual. Since 1994, Boundless Creativity has specialized in 3D and 2D photorealistic illustrations, medical illustration, plus difficult retouching and now includes AI Imaging.

Celebrating nearly 60 years in advertising! I have never lost my enjoyment and enthusiasm for working in advertising. I strive to produce the highest-quality illustration that meets and exceeds the art directors expectations on every job, large or small. 

Though most of my clients are advertising agencies, 12 years ago I completed 33 3D dinosaur illustrations for the Discovery Channel's "My First Dinosaur Encyclopedia." Also, Smith Micro, makers of Poser, selected one of my illustrations to be on the box of their "Poser Debut." They selected the image from all the samples users have submitted to their website.

My work as an illustrator has won numerous awards.
