I’ve been around trucks and the transport industry since I was a kid, although never really gaining any interest to work in the industry until I was at a cross roads at around 20 years old. Always being involved in sports, and plans to secure my HSC and become a physiotherapist didn’t come to fruition, I left high school and became an accredited personal trainer. I gained knowledge first hand at 18 years of age, what training various kinds of people from all walks of life. This enabled me to understand the fundamentals of dealing with different personalities, which would assist me later in on my journey as a business owner. By the time I reached 20 years of age i turned my career into an entry level role at Toll Express, being their Linehaul supervisor at their Eastern Creek facility. From that day on, I found my calling. This was to have my own transport company. I loved what the industry was about, I loved trucks, and I loved building relationships with the subcontractors I engaged. To this day 15 years later I still deal with them. I commenced my own business in 2010 with a prime mover only whilst still working 9-5. Over the years I learnt first hand about the good and the bad of owning a business, and 15 years on nothing has changed. I have grown our business to a medium sized Linehaul fleet, and became fully self employed with a lot of hard work just before my 30th birthday, dealing with some of the country’s largest logistics, and manufacturing businesses.
