I started fundraising before Google and mobile phones. I know that effective fundraising comes from intentionally built relationships with donors, strategic planning, and good storytelling that shows results and impact. With over three decades of unwavering dedication to nonprofit fundraising, I am passionate about driving organizational growth and effective nonprofit management. As the founder and principal of Windmill Hill Consulting, I am on a mission to revolutionize the nonprofit sector away from scarcity mindset and feelings about fundraising as scary. Fundraising has become harder than ever. With declining donors and volunteers and way more ways people can express their generosity, it can feel hard for nonprofit leaders and fundraisers to know what is the best strategy they need to raise more money. With 30 years of fundraising experience, I've seen it all. That's why I founded Windmill Hill Consulting to give nonprofit leaders, fundraisers, and boards the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to raise more money and do more good in the world. Our four-pronged approach-Assess, Dream, Plan, Do-allows us to really get to know our clients' starting point, vision, and capacities so we can partner with them in the plan that will help them scale and grow. I am certified fundraising executive (CFRE), an AFP master trainer, a BoardSource certified Nonprofit Board trainer and am committed to supporting the next generation of philanthropic leaders. When I'm not working with clients, I'm serving as Chair of the Research Committee of the GivingUSA Foundation, on the board of the BBB Wise Giving Alliance and the AFP Foundation, and a lecturer and expert in residence at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy's Do Good Institute.
