It makes my day when a potential new business client with a problem calls me and says, "Let me run this by you....." Chances are that I will be able to provide a no-nonsense, straightforward, and sound legal opinion without any hesitation, based on forty years of business and trial experience, specializing in complex, multi-party business disputes and problems. This substantive perspective and successful track record is the result of representing many small- and medium-sized companies, litigating literally hundreds of civil cases. As a result of my broad and definitive experience, I am frequently solicited by existing and prospective clients. As an experienced business and commercial litigation attorney, my practice is concentrated in the areas of litigating complex, multi-party business transactions or disputes, as well as the purchase and sale of businesses and their real estate. I represent a multitude of closely held companies in all aspects of their operations, as well as their individual owners in the myriads of daily issues and problems involving corporate organization, business leases, and financial loan arrangements. As a consequence of my having litigated nearly 200 civil cases, this gives me a unique perspective as to how to properly represent a business client in all phases of an operation. Interestingly, my practice has recently expanded to encompass matters involving a multitude of aspects of environmental law and, in particular, representing real estate owners who have sustained significant damages from such types of catastrophes as oil spills and gasoline contaminations. My robust client list includes a variety of local automobile dealerships entities, restaurant establishments, and retail liquor stores. In addition to managing a thriving business practice, I previously served as panel defense counsel to American International Group, Home Insurance Company, Zurich Insurance Company, and Shand Morahan (among others). I frequently lecture on workplace issues. From 2019 to the present, I have been selected as a Super Lawyer for my professional achievements. I currently serve as Group Leader for the Braintree ProVisors chapter, and in 2019 was awarded Group Leader of the Year at the annual ProVisors Group Leader Summit in Los Angeles, California. I served as President for several Business Networking International (BNI) chapters, as well as an Educational Coordinator and the Chair of the Membership Committee in those groups. Admitted to practice in all state and federal bars in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, since December 1981.
