Recently, my focus has increasingly moved towards Founder, Business Owner and Family Office coaching and consulting for small-medium sized multi-unit enterprises.

Since 2009, I’ve been leading teams and financial results across industries and functions such as training and development, coaching/consulting, higher education, restaurants, coffee, retail, gas station & convenience stores, real estate and property management, manufacturing, publishing, media, marketing, finance, legal, and more.

Since 2016, I’ve been an Operations Consultant and Certified Executive Coach. I've served clients within the US Army, Chick-fil-A, Inc, Chick-fil-A Restaurants, Impact 360 Institute, Techvestor, BoomTown, Inside Real Estate, Barron Heating, Dixon Hall, Restoration Atlanta, Wheaton College, West Chester Permit, Heritage Bank, Neighborhood Concepts, and more.

I was commissioned in 2008 from Impact 360 Fellows Class II, received a certificate of completion from Chick-fil-A University in SERVE Model Leadership, earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Theology from The College at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and studied graduate level business courses at Columbus State University.

We’ve been quietly working on a program that is core to our identity.

The art of apprenticing was all but lost and is making a return.

We aim to develop 1M leaders by 2075. 

And pound for pound, the most effective way to do that is by reaching down to the next generation, pulling them up, and standing them on our shoulders.

I'm excited to be able to participate in the Pattern Talent sales and marketing internship that has been put on through GCU development! Huge thanks to Brad McDonald for his time and energy invested in our college. In this position, I will be working with my good friend Mason Lytle to improve Pattern Talent's sales and marketing processes, and I am thrilled to be a part of this growing organization.

I’m excited to see our Inaguaral Class of Leadership Fellows onboarding!

I’m excited to share that I’ve accepted a new role as a Leadership Fellow with Pattern Talent | Venture Co, as well as a Client Care Associate with Every Leader's Journey, both led by Brad McDonald.

I will be working alongside Taylor Howell, Cadence Nicoletti, Mason Lytle, and Derek Criddle. They're a great group, and I can't wait to grow with them and learn from them. 

I also want to say a huge thank you to Brad McDonald for this amazing opportunity. His passion for developing strong, purpose-driven leaders inspires me, and I know this semester will bring so much personal and professional growth.

I’ve been watching something closely for the last few years: 

The more I use my internal frustration and anger to fuel my performance, I find I am far more focused, task-efficient and able to work long, hard hours than otherwise.

I also happen to find that I am less interested in the needs of others, more self-oriented, ask less clarifying questions to clients and behave in a more impulsive way.

I also have more chest and joint pain, don’t sleep as well and bring fatigue into my workouts.

Productivity may not be what you think it is and it may not function how you think it does.

Getting more done faster isn’t the ultimate goal. 

Anger and frustration have their place and it’s critical, but it cannot become a way of life.

What if it fails?

So what?

What some of you call wisdom is actually cowardice.

What some of you call sustainable is actually sandbagging.

If you want to be a leader of consequence, the price of admission is the likelihood of pain, suffering and embarrassment.

May you embrace the suffering before you to see your vision transform the world.

One of the central questions of our generation is whether or not there is an overarching metaconspiracy secretly running the world.

And of course, there is.

It's just not the one you're imagining with rituals and carefully curated bloodlines. That's the fantastical distraction.

In reality, it's a conspiracy where people with corporate and institutional power quietly align around the same basic assumption:

"Make as much money as possible, with as little effort as possible and concentrate control of institutions with individuals who will help us achieve our ends."

There is no mastermind. There are simply shared financial incentives, unexamined assumptions and leaders who never question the game of money they're playing.

Resisting that system requires a different kind of leader. The kind of leader with strong ethics, committment to critical thinking, deep empathy and disruptive value creation.

Most leadership development and training simply will not be strong enough to build adequately robust worldviews in order to maintain ethical integrity in the face of increasingly large sums of money. 

Most people have a price and their price is relatively low.

Resistance Leaders must be equipped with four key questions and answers in order to strengthen their personal & professional paradigms enough to grind against the grain.

Character: Who am I and who am I becoming as I lead?
Chemistry: How do I be trustworthy and build high trust relationships?
Competence: What is my unique value contribution and how do I read the value of others?
Capacity: How do I grow myself and other leaders?

This is the work of designing real transformations. 

Not augmenting broken systems with a differently dressed and poorer solution.

There are many who dream of becoming Resistance Leaders, but don't know how.

And that's what we help people become.

A key problem that I repeatedly see with the leadership training and development programs in my clients' companies is a lack of intensity.

It's simply too easy to complete the development. It requires too little time, too little pain and too little actual creative contribution to be transformational.

Ultimately, to change someone's worldview they must 

- Make a sacrificial investment
- Experience suffering that produces growth
- Produce something unique to their own mind and meaning-discovering/making processes

When leadership development experiences include these three things, they have the potential to transform the participants from victims of Bad Leadership to agents of positive transformation.

This is the essence of our model at Pattern Talent, which we're beginning to call The Pattern Method.

My dad made my first food truck possible by helping me renovate a a shipping van into a food truck. In the summer of 2020, every day when he got off work he came home and we repaired, painted, built something. 

He was elated that I learned how to get a loan so that he didn’t involuntarily get volunteered to build another truck.
