I am a results-focused HSE specialist with a verifiable record of investigating, documenting, and rectifying site incidents. My career has enabled me to lead large safety and training programs in high-risk environments on complex underground and surface mining sites around the world. This has given me the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people and tailor training materials to different learning styles and experience levels. My experience, ability and qualifications as a training instructor and supervisor allow me the confidence and agility to take-on any job relating to mining and heavy industry, working with diverse people and in a range of site conditions. I am known as a highly skilled and innovative Health and Safety Superintendent, with extensive experience across HSE program development, auditing and compliance; through to HSE training and assessment. With work experience across Canada, Mongolia, Tanzania, Egypt and Ghana, I have an excellent understanding of the complex HSE regulations in many countries of the world and have run training programs in a range of cultural settings and contexts. My experience has included both underground and surface mining, with specialist skills developed in Mine Rescue training and coordination. I have worked in diverse mining operations, including gold, copper, zinc, tungsten, uranium and coal. Many of the environments where I have worked and trained personnel have been remote locations, operating in extreme conditions, particularly extreme temperatures. For that reason, another area of specialization for my training programs includes mental and physical health of staff when working in remote locations. I pride myself on the ability to build long-term relationships with Executive Management, staff, stakeholders and contractors alike.
