Accountancy/ Payroll Support Technician

Newcastle City Council

I have worked in the hospitality sector since August helping to support and create new inventive ways, for example I have deployed a new till system that integrates with the current applications used by council. This system has delivered business efficiencies across hospitality. The introduction of this system has resulted in a reduction of the number of personnel within this business unit. I have delivered this project on time and within budget. 

Based on the successful deployment of phase 1 I undertook phase two of the project which is to streamline the process further through the council’s regulations to output customer invoices. 

I worked on introducing a new online booking system for all internal council employees to use which is an automated system and will be a self-managed system. 

To be able to streamline the process I had to gain an understanding of how the business works on a day to day basis which meant working alongside all members of the team to help me understand how they did work and how it could be improved to make hospitality services more efficient. 

My roles also including payroll for casual staff and chefs, which I completed at every month end. 

When working in the hospitality office I answer email enquiries from potential clients, telephone calls relating to meeting rooms, the banqueting hall and Mansion House which is another venue hospitality manages.
