Between back-to-back meetings and juggling multiple projects at Sendspark…

Bethany Stachenfeld and I have been putting together a deck for an event we’re sponsoring in May.

Sup, SaaStock!

…and it just clicked that we’ve been waiting for this moment for a while now… having a booth and sponsoring an event.

We’ve done smaller ones in the past… and most recently a happy hour 🥃 with Apollo.io! 

But this one is different…

Our first real “booth” set up!

Since starting Sendspark, we’ve attended SXSW and SaaStr…

Admiring booths from Tango, BreadcrumbsIO, QuotaPath, Paddle, ChartMogul and more…

We would talk about how we couldn't wait to have our own booth, meeting new and existing customers, etc…

But we knew, it just wasn’t the right time.

We had to nail the basics first (product, website, case studies, etc.)

But now, everything's aligned with this event!

We’re ready… (A ton of super happy customers… the case studies, the location… it’s in our backyard Austin, TX 🤠)

Anyway…

Just a proud founder over here, lookin’ back and forward.

Who do you want to meet with?

Who would be a great fit for your product?

Send off intro or video messages (*cough, cough* Sendspark)

Maybe it’s obvious, or seems too simple so you’ll put it off, but…

Trust me, it's a game-changer for your conference experience.

Breaking the ice becomes a breeze in person.

I've had countless encounters just by recognizing them while waiting for food or drinks and starting with a friendly 👋 'Hey there, name! Brandon from LinkedIn!’' 🤝

The best part?

They’re often not waiting alone, so they’ll introduce you to who they’re with, which often leads to more introductions down the line at an after party, etc…

OK, with that being said…

This is our first time sponsoring and running a booth…

So this is what I’m constantly reminding myself not to forget… 😅

Stay engaged during the event - put the phone away! In the past I’ve seen a few booth staff on the phone (and no not just quickly checking notifications) which was a tad off-putting and I felt like I was interrupting them, haha - I don’t want to be like that for our visitors!

LBP! LBP! (listen before pitching) fun fact, I tell myself this before every sales demo! Otherwise I’d go into autopilot and catch myself jumping into the demos or our pitch without learning about their needs.

I know there are a lot more things I should be reminding myself of, so…
