On Independence Day 2023 I started a new professional chapter, a unique offering which brings together my passion, experience, and dedication to the User Experience community. After 40 amazing and decidedly wild years in advertising, consulting, and building and running global Design, e-Commerce and UX teams for startups and Fortune 100 companies, I have embarked on a new chapter in my post-retirement from being a practitioner. XUX Coaching LLC, is a coaching service exclusively tailored for UX professionals, created by a UX professional. What won’t we do? There will be no teaching on 7 steps to Figma wizardry, there will be no top 3, 5, 7 or 9 ways to get Engineering to actually listen to you, and there will be no portfolio reviews. Plenty of others do that quite well. What will we do? We will provide UX coaching for UX professionals who want to be accountable to advance, improve, or change their career within clear timelines. Through coaching, the mission of XUX Coaching LLC is to inspire and empower UX professionals to achieve that big goal that they have at this point in their lives. The mission is, as I have said many times… “to inspire people to do the work that inspires them”. It is unfortunate that many people are overwhelmed and frustrated in their UX careers yet, for a variety of reasons, stay stuck where they are and it is my desire to be able to change that for the better with them. In the ever-evolving UX landscape, I've seen the multitude of challenges that UX professionals face daily and for many, the unaddressed desires for change. The diversity of the community brings with it a wide range of nuanced issues, and sometimes, seemingly overwhelming situations. As a veteran UX leader and practitioner, I believe I am in a prime position to help UX professionals meet these challenges head-on and to provide meaningful coaching and strategies for success. My goal is to inspire people to do the work that inspires them.
