I am a veteran of the legal profession with over three decades of experience and I am a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and Qualified Arbitrator. With decades of legal and litigation experience, I am strategic, solution oriented and a problem solver. Some even call me a peacemaker. Prior to joining the ADR profession, I spent the last 18 + years as General Counsel for a large privately held retail organization with an aggressive growth strategy. The targeted strategy resulted in 3x growth, tripling our retail footprint, distribution centers and headcount. As GC, I focused on strategic planning, risk mitigation, Human Resources, litigation, compliance, and daily operations. I also worked directly with Business Partners and Operations designing and implementing policies and procedures that effectively reduced litigation and economic exposure while supporting growth. My strategic focus incIuded workers’ compensation and employment law issues inclusive of discrimination, FMLA, DOL, FLSA/Wages, WARN, ADA, Web Accessibility and Whistle-blower claims, along with daily busienss and operational matters. As a trusted legal Counsel to the C-Suite, I proactively provided counsel in additional areas, including risk mitigation, corporate guidance and compliance, strategic planning, contracts, trademark and copyright, new business unit planning, safety and general liability oversight. I excelled in the delicate balance of working day-to-day with business partners, associates and managers to bridge operational gaps and achieve success.
