Prior to search engine optimization, my background is as a teacher and high school basketball coach for 17 years. I bring what I learned during that time to my speaking engagements - I teach rather than sell, am always well prepared and organized, and keep the audience engaged.

For the past 15 years, I've been obsessed with understanding how search engines work, and how to apply that knowledge to help financial advisors grow their business online. 

In the spring of 2010, after completing my MBA in Financial Planning, I left my teaching position and started Advisor Web Marketing. I have recently rebranded as Advisor Rankings to focus on our commitment to search engine optimization. 

My wife, Katie, and I have 2 young adult children and reside in Boise, Idaho with our spoiled black dog named "Red". When I'm not SEOing or spending time with my family, I am an avid reader, enjoy, movies and cycling, and am an aspiring writer. I will also admit to spending too much time on my Play Station console fighting through call of duty with my son. 

I'm a former high school and college baseketball coach, turned casual sports fan. I cheer for Oregon State (go Beavs!), follow and support the Boise State teams (hate the blue turf), the Calgary Flames (former Calgary resident) and Las Vegas Golden Knights, and the Las Vegas Raiders (former Las Vegas resident).
