There is a MASSIVE shift happening right now on TikTok Shop

12 of the top 20 products now sell for over $100 as the platform becomes more reliant on GMV Max Ads to drive sales.

Let's quickly breakdown why:

In the past, affiliates promoted products for 20-30% commissions.

While that worked for organic revenue..

With ads involved, it became financially unsustainable.

Now, videos boosted in GMV Max get separate commissions.

The standard is 5%.

In practice:
You (an affiliate) sell a $40 product..

Old days: make $8
New days: make $2

As a result...

Creators push higher ticket items where the 5% commission is still appealing. 

Sales on TikTok are directly correlated to the number of creators posting videos about the product. Not marketplace dynamics.

With more creators willing to push items above $100, this opens up a huge new opportunity for brands to participate in the space.
