My current position is a mix of Recruitment Ops, Marketing Ops, and Project Management. It's given me a great opportunity to learn about multiple other business functions on a deeper level than my previous IT roles. I've helped manage and build our recruitment processes from the ground up, including managing our ATS and related vendor relationships. I've built tools for our marketing team. I've contributed to our print, billboard, digital, and broadcast advertising campaigns. I help multiple departments track, measure, and organize data. 

My ultimate goal is to help people achieve more by working with them to improve processes, grow skills, and facilitate more effective conversations.

Technical Project Manager

The most rewarding part of this work was witnessing the growth of our team in terms of abilities and skill. The industry was changing quickly (HIPAA adoption, Electronic Medial Records, population care needs shifted from long term care to short post acute rehab, HIEs/RHIOs, the growth of smart phone connectivity, etc.).

While in this position, I oversaw the growth of our network from 200 connected devices to 1000+. I was able to propose and rollout an improved network infrastructure that cut our annual connectivity costs by roughly 40% while significantly increasing our bandwidth speeds. Our team helped the company transition to from paper charting to electronic medical records, we successfully migrated to a virtualized environment, and built our first live DRO.

IT Department Manager

My primary duty with this position was to provide phone and deskside support/training. However, I also was given the opportunity to work on data projects and assist with the configuration and deployment of servers. I was also able to propose and implement a document imaging system that had an ROI of seven months due to the savings in paper and postage alone.

There is nothing better than getting paid for doing what you love. My consulting started out with me repeatedly reaching out to a website owner with a plan to help improve what was a sliding project that I felt passionate about. That resulting in my becoming the administrator of BlogExplosion.com, a blogging community with over 100,000 members. During my time there, I performed site maintenance, fixed code issues, and recruited a team of volunteers to help maintain the website.

From there, I was able to work with a wide range of clients across a number of industries (retail, nonprofit, journalism, coaching, finance, etc.). The majority of the work I did was surrounding website administration. However, I also served clients by providing services such as writing copy, performing contract reviews, assisting with reputation management, editing physical books, and providing white label SEO services.

Consulting allowed me the opportunity to meet a number of interesting and inspiring individuals and help them on some amazing projects that I would have otherwise never been a part of (like digital marketing projects for a candidate for federal office or presenting technical information on behalf a client to a member of Etsy's legal team). It also provided me with a chance to significantly build my skills around sales and customer acquisition.

Boone Computer Systems

Boone Computer Systems was a small 10 to 15 employee shop that provided IT services. While there, I was contracted out to work onsite for various area corporate and government clients. Projects ranged building and installing dozens of computers to refresh school computer labs to creating inventorying and invoicing systems using MS Access. The shop also provided retail sales, introducing me to sales and consulting clients on their needs.
