Assistant Director of In-Home Supports

Consulting individuals with disabilities and their families on obtaining in-home support services
 
Ensuring that services are effective and being utilized correctly, while also educating those served to self-manage programs

Facilitating the approval of services including tracking progress on individual cases, communicating with insurance providers and regulatory bodies to obtain the correct amount of aid for each individual's need.

Accomplishments: 
Increased the department's effectiveness by streamlining day-to-day functions and cross checking department procedures with program requirements.

Case Coordinator

MAB Community Services

Recruited by upper-management during a time of quick and necessary change. 

Overseeing the cases of multiple individuals with varying disabilities receiving supports, including but not limited to developing goals, managing day to day health and wellness and engaging in healthy and positive activities.

Supervising the direct care staff of the program. 

Ensuring that the regulations of involved agencies are met, the rights of each individual are respected, program rules and protocols are enforced and the residents are working towards both short-term and long-term goals to improve their independence.

Senior Case Manager

Ivy Street

Supervising a staff of several counselors in a residential school setting. 

Developing a shift plan with assigned duties and activities. 

Running the day to day functions of the residential program as well as working on long term goals for students and staff. 

Leading a small team of counselors in interventions during time of crisis.  

Meeting with staff weekly to discuss progress and problem solve any ongoing issues.

Program Supervisor

Working with students diagnosed with cognitive disabilities and behavioral issues in a therapeutic, residential school program.  Daily duties include leading program activities, instituting and supporting behavior management plans, assisting with schoolwork and daily goals, teaching life skills, assessing students' progress and intervening in times of behavioral issues and crisis to ensure the safety and well being of all.

Residential Counselor/Advocate

Four Seasons Wine and Spirits

Started as a store clerk and in short time promoted to supervisor in an independently-owned store selling a variety of beer, wine and liquor.  I grew my own knowledge of products in order to educate costumers. This education included beer and wine tastings and promotional events.
I supervised store shifts which included training new employees.
I focused on establishing relationships with customers and growing knowledge about the store through networking.

Manager

Intellectually curious and driven to constant improvement, Brian started Uncommon Trail, LLC, a training, coaching, and consulting company focused on personal and professional growth in December 2023.  He also works as a consultant for Clear Guidance care management, providing counsel to individuals with disabilities and their families.  Prior to this he held management roles in human services organizations most recently serving as Assistant Vice President of Programs at UCP of MetroBoston.  His passion is to make life better, whether it is for teammates, co-workers, or clients.
