as Iike 4 of you may have noticed, over the last couple weeks I’ve started sharing more about B2B SaaS growth on Reddit 

and even with 20k followers It honestly feels like starting over.

the stuff I’m excited about is not the stuff LinkedIn is used to seeing from me, and the platform is clearly adjusting at the pace of a sloth 🦥

a few posts hit.
some posts do absolutely nothing.
some feel like I launched them straight into the void with no return address 😂😂

BUT I’m not changing direction because I actually really like what I’m making right now.

It feels more accurate to the work I’m doing and the lane I want to be known for.

So yeah….engagement is weird.

what I’m learning is that’s the cost of a pivot: you’ve gotta rebuild a little.

I watched a well known B2B SaaS brand dig its own grave on Reddit yesterday 💀



Not metaphorically. Like… full on real time burial😂.

They were mentioned negatively in a thread and they showed up guns blazing ready to get their corporate PR defense on. 

Not gonna out them but their performance was cringe at best. So. Many. Downvotes. 

I say this with love as someone who lives on Reddit for a major SaaS company and has taken my fair share of digital punches…

Reddit is NOT the place for your press release. It’s unlike any other platform and there is a certain….etiquette you need to follow if you’re gonna survive. 

Here are the top 5 mistakes B2B SaaS brands keep making on Reddit and how to fix them before the internet eats them alive ☺️

1. Showing up only when things are on fire

❌Mistake: Disappearing for months and magically returning the moment a thread goes sideways.
✅Fix: Participate always. Keep your sub active and value-packed if you have one. Slide into DMs with empathy and real fixes.

2. Using brand voice in a place that hates brand voice

❌Mistake: Replying with polished, PR safe lines like “We value your feedback.”
✅Fix: Be humble and REAL. You cannot operate as a marketer, you have to show up as a real person with honesty and a sense of humour.

3. Arguing with customers (this never ends well)

❌Mistake: Trying to correct the narrative in a defensive tone.
✅Fix: Avoid anything that could be perceived as gaslighting. Validate feelings, let people feel heard, offer solutions when appropriate. Otherwise STFU, sometimes silence is the move.

4. Pitch Slapping

❌Mistake: the most common and most universally hated behaviour from brands. Someone shares a pain in a post and a brand pops in with a “here at ACME, we can help you with this!!!!l” - instant ban lol 
✅Fix: Resist the urge. Don’t do it. Some subreddits ban brand accounts entirely for this reason. Comment to be genuinely helpful without a pitch or zip it and try a DM instead.

5. Treating Reddit like LinkedIn

❌Mistake: Overly polished, overly corporate, overly safe.
✅Fix: Be blunt. Be useful. Be human. Reddit sniffs out performative vibes instantly.

You don’t go to Reddit to push your latest white paper or get showered in praise, you go to get the realest feedback, better serve your customers, and improve your LLM visibility. 

Remember why you’re there and stay humble 😘

👉 if your brand doesn’t recognize who you’re talking to, you will respond the wrong way.

🔥 1. LLM summaries replace the homepage.

Buyers hit a model summary long before they hit your homepage, and that summary comes straight from Reddit threads, comparisons, and the pain points people won’t let go of.

In competitive categories, teams won’t be able to ignore this.

🔥 2. Companies start testing product launches on Reddit.

Models tend to stick with the first explanation they find, so teams will start putting more thought into what gets indexed first.

🔥 3. Reddit operators become increasingly important to GTM.

The language that sticks in Reddit threads often becomes the language models use. That ends up influencing positioning whether teams realize it or not.


🔥 4. “Model lift” becomes a real metric.

Teams track how community language influences:

– which vendors models recommend
– how their product is summarized
– how comparisons are framed

Tools like AirOps (which I use daily) are early to this, helping teams see how Reddit conversations show up inside models.
