I have the awesome privilege to work with AxiCom’s talented global community of Creators, Analysts, Researchers, and Strategists. We call ourselves the CARDS team. In partnership with AxiCom and WPP account teams around the world, CARDS deliver earned-first, measurable business results for tech, consumer and B2B brands using every tool in the modern marketing toolset, from content marketing and social engagement to paid media, influencer activation, executive thought leadership and employee advocacy. My life experience shaped me as a technologist and communicator. I built my first computer at age 12. By 16, I was making websites for local businesses in my hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania. As a student at Notre Dame, I helped build and manage the earliest incarnations of the university’s website. Over the course of a decade with Whirlpool, I did pretty much everything you can do with digital inside a company, from web application development and smart appliance product innovation to running a $30 million D2C ecommerce business, serving as the company’s first global head of social media, and leading global digital transformation for the CEO. I took the unusual route of going from in-house to agency, picking up ten years of valuable big-agency experience with Golin (Interpublic Group), where I built strong digital teams in offices across North America, led successful and sizable new business pitches, oversaw major client engagements, counseled key clients, and developed agency offerings. I’ve worked with Walmart, Nintendo, Samsung, McDonald’s, LinkedIn, Dell Technologies, YouTube, Adobe, Unilever, PepsiCo, Hyatt Hotels, PetSmart and more. But the moment that defined my career was leading social media for Pope Francis’ 2015 visit to the United States, organizing agency and volunteer teams in DC, New York and Philadelphia. Our team created more than 2,000 pieces of social content in Spanish and English with an average turnaround time of 15 minutes. We generated more than 18 million impressions, analyzed more than 73 billion social mentions and responded to thousands of people at a 75% response rate. We even created content for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Pew Research proved the Pope’s visit, including our work, drove 28% better public perception of the Catholic Church. Outside work, you'll find me traveling somewhere in the world with my partner Chiara, playing with Bucatini our Havanese puppy, cooking a multi-course meal, cheering for Notre Dame football, out on the golf course, or jamming along on guitar to a Dave Matthews Band show.
