The 25-point rule is simple but powerful: 

Whatever you think your employees feel about a topic on a scale of 1-100, subtract 25 points. That adjusted number is much closer to their actual sentiment.

Your employees aren't lying - they are just aware of the power dynamic.

Hot Take! 🔥🔥🔥

Current large company CEOs, particularly tech CEOs, are destroying the employee experience.

This will set back leadership development years, if not decades.

I see lots of great things about leaders on here from some incredibly well-meaning and talented people. 

What employees are seeing in reality is different.

CEOs are transactional, egomaniacs, and just plain pricks.

Young leaders are seeing the worst behaviors and thinking that is what leadership is.

Who gets hurt - front-line employees and managers.

Time to stand up and call out the bad behavior.

Time for organizations and shareholders to not accept the bad behavior.

First - give props when they are due.
The article in Fast Company by Dominic Ashley-Timms and Laura Ashley-Timms is spot on.

However.... What the ____ are you doing saying "Microsoft is making 9,000 people redundant"?

Maybe those human centric skills should reflect that an immensely profitable company has decided to FIRE people not because it is necessary financially, but because they put profits over people and do not believe their employees matter (I'll die on this hill).

We can't be human centric if we can't tell the truth.
