Cannopy Corp

I devised and led Cannopy successfully through a major pivot to develop an innovative online marketplace for the cannabis industry. The product began as a selling tool for Craft Concentrates as a single tenant platform and under my management the product was completely overhauled and transformed resulting in a comprehensive multi-tenant, region-based, wholesale eCommerce marketplace with several distinct and differentiating features based on methodical customer discovery.

•	Product:  Directly managed distributed product teams (10 developers, 2 UX/UI designers), API rewrite, and UI refactorization. Implemented Agile SCRUM and Increased velocity by 34% over a 12-month period. 
•	Growth:  Boosted monthly revenue transactions by 35% to more than $2.5 million per month. 
•	Growth:  Increased monthly unit sales by 43% and gained 50% market share (CO market) within12 months of launch. 
* NPS improved by 74% from a starting point of 54 points, reducing churn, evidencing more positive product sentiment. 
•	Reduced CAC by 37% over a 6-month period via optimized funnel strategy and PLG execution.

•	Devised a comprehensive go-to-market (GTM) strategy, including segmentation, targeting, positioning, targeted messaging, engaging content creation, and strategic partnerships to launch a groundbreaking 0-1 product. 
•	Leveraged data-driven marketing tactics across digital channels (e.g., SEO, SEM, social media) to reach targeted prospects and generate high-quality leads via a PLG approach.

An  interactive online English language learning website and mobile application that teaches conversational English to Mandarin speaking students.

•	Launched one of China's first English learning platforms utilizing video chat technology, fostering a more interactive and immersive learning experience for users.
•	Directly managed the successful launch of three 0-1 innovative products (custom learning web/mobile app and online ESL game) in just 12 months, growing the user base to more than 10,000 MAU in Sichuan Province. 
•	Led a cross-functional team of 30+ designers, developers, marketers, and DevOps engineers. 
•	Leveraged user feedback and market analysis, resulting in an 18% increase in NPS and a 21% boost in session duration via a tailored customer experience campaign.
•	Established impactful partnerships with more than 30 schools in Sichuan Province.
•	Secured a successful seed funding round from prominent international angel investors.

A WOFE (wholly owned foreign entity) operating legally in Chengdu, China specializing in the EB-5 investment market.
Developed Chinese marketing materials for prospective EB-5 clients in partnership with regional centers throughout mainland China.
•	Developed targeted marketing campaigns across diverse channels (e.g., digital advertising, trade shows, webinars) to reach high-net-worth individuals from mainland China.
•	Leveraged data analytics to optimize campaign performance, measure ROI, campaign lift, and ensure alignment with investor demographics and investment preferences.

Brian is a Duke University Fuqua scholar with 10+ years of product management, consulting, and product marketing experience. He has led the development of more than two dozen applications for clients across multiple industries, including Microsoft and Merrell. Brian's expertise lies in innovating novel "0-to-1" products to test MVP hypotheses and in devising and implementing go-to-market strategies.
