An Unconventional Bio for an Unconventional Life. 👇 Some Career Stuff: • Created the design on a well-known commercial airplane. • Created the logo currently on the Las Vegas Raiders stadium. • Sold a company while raising a Series A for another. (Stress level: maximum.) • Nominee for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. • Pitched in big-time Silicon Valley boardrooms, "Shark Tank" style. Didn't faint once. • Arnold Schwarzenegger's autograph is on my college diploma. (True story.) • Built a branding & web agency at 24, then sold it. • Co-founded and sold a global software company. • Created and produced a monthly magazine from scratch. • Launched an e-commerce coffee business. • Had lunch with Jennifer Lawrence at SXSW... Sort of. (It’s a long story.) • Co-founded a carpet cleaning company in high school with my grandpa. • Helped hundreds of companies scale and grow. • Proud Cal Poly grad. Best decision ever. Now on the Board of Advisors. Some Personal Stuff: • Was a nationally ranked BMX racer at 13. Lost only one race. • Thought I wanted to be a filmmaker—until a Hollywood producer crushed my dreams. • Played pickup basketball almost every day in college. I still play, even though it really hurts. • Flew solo as a kid, across the country every summer. (My parents were brave.) • Survived an emergency plane landing with my family. (Crazy story for another time.) • I cut my own hair. Haven’t had a professional trim in 18 years. • Gave Marcus Mumford from Mumford & Sons a high five. Twice. • Doing things that scare the sh%$ out of me is my specialty. • I’ve failed plenty. But guess what? I’m not afraid to fail again. • Love taking risks. Even when I have no clue what I’m doing. • Worked with insanely talented people and created some really cool stuff. • I was the lead singer of two bands. I was embarrassingly bad. • Been with my wife since we were 15. We now have 3 amazing kids. And a dog that barks a lot. • I pray every day to thank God for my family and friends.
