As a solopreneur, I’ve learned to be strategic about events.

No corporate travel budget. No assistant coordinating logistics. Just me — juggling flights, client calls, and family schedules before I even board the plane.

So before I say yes to anything, I ask myself three questions:
1️⃣ Will it help me expand my skills?
2️⃣ Will it help me connect with future clients or partners?
3️⃣ Will it broaden my horizons — inspiring me to think bigger?

Last week, I flew to Austin for the Texas Conference for Women, and it absolutely hit that third goal. The energy, the honesty, and the realness of the speakers reminded me exactly why it’s worth getting out of your day-to-day to refuel.

A few of the ideas that stuck with me 👇

🔹 Bozoma St. John — Recognition doesn’t come from keeping your head down and hoping someone notices. It comes from owning your greatness out loud. Confidence starts from within — and if someone calls you “self-centered,” ask yourself, who else should I be centered around, if not myself? 🔥

🔹 Charles Duhigg — True vulnerability means telling someone something they could judge — and when they choose not to, that’s where real connection begins. It’s what makes both people feel safe enough to open up further.

🔹 Mel Robbins — You already know what you need to do — your brain just talks you out of it. Do the thing before you start thinking about it. Motivation is garbage. Action creates momentum. And your best days are ahead.

🔹 Martha Beck — “Anxiety is fear stuck in the ON position.” Creativity is often the way to turn it off.

🔹 Jordan Chiles — When you’re focused on your own dreams, you’re too busy to worry about what others think. You get to choose how you show up.

I left feeling re-energized, grateful, and reminded that inspiration isn’t fluff — it’s fuel.
