Soul Machines 

Soul Machines uses AI technologies to humanise our interactions with computers by creating a workforce of Digital Avatars powered by our patented Digital Brain. 

Over my tenure at Soul Machines I’ve focused on democratising the power of our platform, enabling customers to experiment quickly and find that “aha” moment quickly. I led the product execution for Digital DNA Studio, an AI-powered self-service tool for creating, configuring, and deploying a Digital Person Experience, removing a significant customer pain-point. 

I created and owned the product strategy, roadmap and execution for a self-service tool (DigitalDNA Blender) which enabled customers to design their avatar, a process which previously took a team of artists 6 months to achieve on their behalf. This resulted in customers being able to create personalised avatars in minutes leading to a 500% increase avatars created on our platform.

I further reduced the time-to-value from 6 weeks to 6 days by crafting and owning the product strategy for leveraging GenerativeAI solutions (such as chatGPT) into our product. This enabled us to effectively target a new user-segment (Independent creators) and double our user base within 6 months.

I crafted our Digital Workforce Strategy by examining historically successful use-cases and codifying this into market messaging, pricing structures, feature development and go-to-market strategies.

I had the privilege of working to deliver product to companies such as the Royal Bank of Scotland, ANZ Bank, BankABC, FWD Insurance, Uber, WHO, Mercedes-Benz, General Motors, Pan-American Health Organisation, SK-II, Nestlé, and CoreLogic.

I implemented agile processes, developed value streams and other delivery systems to shift Soul Machines from struggling to meet customer deadlines to meeting all delivery deadlines in 2019 and 2020.

I reduced waste by 25% by finding places in our delivery chain that were underperforming and lobbying for improved tooling or process change.

Scarlet City Studios

I co-founded Scarlet City Studios to use the immersive medium of games to enable children to be forces for positive social change in their neighbourhoods. We raised $5M in seed-funding and grew the team to 35 people. Our flagship game, The Aetherlight had 30,000 users and a retention rate of 69% (double the industry average)

My portfolio included product management, studio management and production management. I created our business & product strategies, and market analyses. 

I instituted a strong culture of empathy and connection, which many former employees still discuss today.

We produced three games - The Aetherlight - a children’s MMO, available on iOS, Android, and desktop - and 2 Augmented Reality games (played on-site) for a Museum in Washington, D.C.

I was based in a Lab at Auckland City Hospital where I was undertaking my Master's Research into the evolution of the Hepatitis B Virus in Tongans. Specifically, we aimed to investigate and elucidate the difference in mutation repertoires between a subset of Tongans who control the virus and the disease, and those who do not, thus eliciting ongoing liver disease (hepatitis)
