- Transformed the company for full business agility and customer centricity, e. g. lowering both time to insight and time to value by ca. 80% (down to days rather than weeks)
- Implemented continuous discovery with habitual prototyping for rapid high-value innovation (everyone speaks with customers at least once per week, team generates and vets regularly a broad range of options, …)
- Paved path for exponential growth despite physical touchpoint as severe rate-limiting function by remodelling the customer journey in fast increments as digital-first/physical-optional. Thus increased customer acquisition funnel capacity by ca. 10x (with much higher potential further down the road)

Joined founding executive team as first product lead shortly before the pandemic. Acquired public funding. Evaluated and improved remote hiring platform MVP, lowering time to hire and reducing talent team workload. Revised company strategy with CEO due to pandemic shift in the market. Helped to pivot acework from remote recruiting platform to boutique talent advisory and remote leadership consultancy. Grew and shrunk team accordingly. Bootstrapped consultancy line of business with CEO to profitability serving global clients from SMEs to enterprises. Contributed broad range of IP such as acework's human-centric framework for building and leading distributed teams, its core modules, and a research-backed hybrid team quality assessment. Designed and led client services and executive workshops. Co-organised remote leadership roundtable. Also handled parts of operations (knowledge management, workflows, tooling/automation/infrastructure), website relaunch, and a large pack of diverse startup business peanuts too small to list or remember.

Last but not least obsoleted my full-time role as a consequence of doing what was necessary for the company. Gracefully phased out engagement. (Not easy with such a wonderful team – thanks for being who you are 🤗)

Educated some fabulous product/interaction designers (product design department, chair of Prof. Carola Zwick, mostly senior level students). Oh the incredible joy of seeing each individual talent grow, refine, and turn into the leading-edge professionals they are now!

Some highlights:

* Designed and taught first physical computing workshops at KHB ever with a self-developed hands-on methodology suited to designers with no engineering/coding knowledge at all. Thus enabled our students to advance from absolute zero to prototyping proficiency with the Arduino platform in just a few weeks and successfully present interactive projects by the end of the term. 

* Designed and taught foundational workshop (juniors) and course (seniors) for UX/UI prototyping from paper over graphical tools to technology/code. Focused not only on the means but on the ends and outlined how to decide on the best method and tool for any common context (product discovery, learning/evaluation, stakeholder alignment, …). Piggybacked contemporary IA/UX methods wherever reasonable for better grounding within the design process.

* Co-supervised several term projects (seniors) with Prof. Carola Zwick and once Darryl Feldman. Introduced mandatory course blogging as a means of learning project communication with distributed teams and gaining more visibility as designers at the same time. Thus helped several of our students build a strong public portfolio including both process and results on the go and score high-profile positions in the industry after graduating. Introduced presentation rehearsals/critique near the end of the term in order to strengthen visual communication and storytelling skills (adapted as standard afterwards). Thus significantly improved end-term presentation quality and student’s success.
