As Senior Advisor for the University of Lynchburg's Master of Public Health program, I provide strategic guidance to a robust, all-encompassing curriculum designed to enhance health outcomes globally. We empower students with comprehensive skills, including evidence-based practices, policy design, data analysis, and community health tools, emphasizing ethical applications. With experiential learning, students work on real-world problems in internships or community-based projects. We prepare them for the Certified Health Education Specialists exam and offer a community health concentration and online flexibility. Our ultimate goal is to foster capable leaders dedicated to advancing health equity and well-being in diverse communities worldwide.

Facilitated continuing education on global health issues, including social determinants of health, key areas of disease burden, and physician assistants’ role in solving these problems.
• Written Communication: Provided high-quality doctoral-level instruction by delivering asynchronous material to doctoral fellows. Result: 20 Doctor of Medical Science fellows completed rigorous studies in the global health discipline per 12-week term.
• Collaboration: Evaluated and provided recommendations to the course leader by incorporating industry-specific knowledge and expertise. Result: Increased student capacity by 25% by increasing enrollment capacity and course development.

Senior Advisor to the Master of Public Health Program & Adjunct Professor of Global Health

Subject matter expert on the Veterans Exposure Team-Health Outcomes Military Exposures (VET-HOME). Performs registry evaluations that are critical to understanding and mitigating the health impacts of various military exposures, such as Agent Orange, Ionizing and Non-Ionizing Radiation, Depleted Uranium, Gulf War Illness, Toxic Embedded Fragments, Airborne Hazards, and Open Burn Pits (AHOBPR).

Works as part of a team to research, develop, and implement plans, processes, protocols, and frameworks for managing public health, medical, and health security threats and crises.

Coordinate with DHS, federal inter-agency, state and local, and non-governmental partners to build whole-of-nation resilience to health security threats and other crises such as natural disasters and mass migration. Serves as an expert analyst in the areas of public health emergency preparedness and operational coordination of major medical and health security programs.

Executive Medicine to the Office of the President and the Office of the Vice President

Sole Medical Provider for the Vice President and First Lady of the United States for several complex and geopolitically sensitive missions.

Develop, plan, and implement results-driven medical and medical contingency plans to support the President, Vice President, First Family, and Second Family.

•	Planning and Evaluating: Developed and implemented medical contingency plans in 22 states and five countries to support executive-level health security and public health preparedness. Result: Provided comprehensive continuous medical coverage for the President, Vice President, First Lady, and 100-300 members of their staff and support personnel. 

•	Oral Communication: Delivered medical plan presentations to the governmental, non-governmental, and international stakeholders. Result: Created a medical concept of operations for 83 worldwide Presidential and Vice Presidential trips.

•	Policy Analysis and Support: Provided COVID-19 specific recommendations to internal and external stakeholders concerning screening, testing, and diagnosis by assisting in coordinating the organization’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Result: Maximized public health disease surveillance and supported health security policies for 5,500 employees.

•	Partnering: Successfully provided medical supervision, guidance, and mentorship to 39 United States Secret Service Personnel with specialized training in chemical, biological, and radiation mitigation. Result: Partnership strengthening and a 33% increase in support in a mitigation support capacity.

White House Medical Officer

US Army

Serve as the medical supervisor of seven medical personnel and provided oversight and developmental training programs to sustain flight paramedic en route care and austere medical skills.

• Results Driven: Increased access to care for a 700-patient empanelment of U.S. Army aviators and support personnel by training to perform aeromedical duties on various aircraft, allowing for greater flexibility and availability for appointments. Result: 95% or more of all aviation personnel were always ready to deploy. 

• Accountability: Maintained, deployed, and redeployed medical supplies, equipment, and medications throughout the Korean Peninsula by conducting and supervising regular inspections and inventories. Result: Maintained accountability and fiscal responsibility of over $500,000 in medical equipment.

Aeromedical Physician Assistant

Serve as the Medical Readiness Center Officer in Charge and Physician Assistant responsible for the medical readiness of a 4-Star General Headquarters. Provides direct primary care in a hospital-based family medicine clinic and a military health clinic. 

• Project Management: Managed multiple medical projects in the Pacific region by personally training and deploying medics to train foreign militaries. Result: Increased interoperability by training three medics to teach basic first responder to trauma and disaster courses in Indonesia, Bangladesh, and the Philippines in support of the U.S. Army’s Global Peace Operations Initiative Program.  

• Leadership: Directed and provided oversight by multifunctional vaccination to include travel-related vaccinations, while serving as the senior medical officer for the 2016 and 2017 Influenza Campaigns. Result: 100% of all deploying military officers received the appropriate travel-related vaccinations. Over 1800 military personnel and civilians received the influenza vaccine over a 48-hour period at a single mass vaccination site for two consecutive influenza campaigns. 

• Problem Solving: Improved medical readiness by process improvement strategies nested in the policies set by the organization's leadership. Result: Increased the organization's readiness from the U.S Army standard of 85% to 90% without any noted deficiencies during the United States Army Pacific Command Organization Inspection Program.

Physician Assistant

Provides primary care for an empanelment of 650 military personnel, dependents, and retirees, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. 

• Customer Service: Performed high-quality, patient-centered medical care for an average of 100 weekly patient encounters. Result: Named as the Employee of the month on multiple occasions based on comment cards submitted by patients and maintained a 100% on the Army Provider Level Satisfaction Survey

• Creativity: Improved health literacy by leading a group discussion and an information session on the pathophysiology of diabetes mellitus in a multidisciplinary public health outreach program in the Camp Casey South Korea community. Result: Over 80% of diabetics in the community participated in the public health campaign, leading to increased patient compliance with medication regimens and engagement with primary care providers.
