Happy Monday LinkedIn fam! Last Thursday’s Microsoft Career Day at its Las Colinas campus delivered—real conversations, meaningful connections, and practical takeaways for anyone navigating the ever-evolving tech landscape! It was great to be in a space that welcomed everyone, whether you’re just breaking into the field or exploring your next pivot 😇 💼 From resume reviews and mock interviews to complimentary professional headshots, the event truly prioritized supporting attendees in putting their best foot forward. Shoutout to the amazing organizers Arthi Gunaseelan, MBA, Simon Wang, Huey Vu, Mitch Kuy and the incredible support from Asians at Microsoft (AZN), Blacks at Microsoft (BAM), Hispanic and Latinx Organization of Leaders in Action (HOLA), and partners and collaborators like Caf2Code LLC, JourneyTeam, Ascend North Texas, Global JumpStart, and PMI Dallas Chapter for making this event possible! 🙌 🎤 The panel—moderated by Huey Vu—brought together powerful voices with lived experience in navigating and shaping tech careers with resilience, clarity, and heart. Here were some standout insights: 🔹 Jason Andrews reminded us that even after career pivots and acquisitions, it’s about continuing to show up and lead at the highest levels. 🔹 Celeste Roane encouraged us to practice the skill of “selling ourselves”—because it’s not just about what you know, but how you show up. 🔹 Vijay Gopal shared insight on hiring for potential, knowing your passion and strengths, bringing your X factor and that we are at the cusp of an AI revolution! 🔹 Keysh Bryant spoke about creating impact through collaboration. Twelve years at Microsoft, and still focused on how to grow and evolve. 🔹 Marcelo E. Silva, PMP® CSM broke down the Azure financial vertical, showing how technical depth and cross-functional work come together. 🔹 Arianna Khan shared how programs like Microsoft Aspire are helping students bridge into the corporate world through mentorship, networking, and intentional planning. I also appreciated thoughtful convos with folks like Ijeoma Nnorom, PMP, Destini Simmons, M.S Cybersecurity, Jasmine Bortters, Trinh Tran, Bronwyn Justice, MBA, PMP, and more! Also, shoutout to Kelly Gustafson from Caf2Code LLC, Ed Roberson from JourneyTeam, Lana Tran and Mei L. from Ascend!
