There was PRIDE everywhere. Quiet smiles. Moist eyes. That moment when a family sees years of hard work finally get a name and a stage.

I was at the CMIB Program 40 Under 40 - Season 4 at Agra.

I got the opportunity to present one of the awards to a proud awardee. What stayed with me after the program was not the stage or the cultural presentations... it was the AUDIENCE. 

Parents sitting in the front rows.
Families holding phones, trying to capture a moment they will remember forever.
Children clapping and grabbing the trophy for a photograph, not fully understanding the title, but knowing their parent just won something big.

There was PRIDE everywhere. Quiet smiles. Moist eyes. That moment when a family sees years of hard work finally get a name and a stage.

And standing there, I felt deeply motivated.

Not because I want an award.
But because I want that moment someday.
I want to see my parents sitting there, proud, emotional, fulfilled.

My parents are already very accomplished in the industry. Most people know them.
Wherever I go, I am often introduced as “their daughter”.

And I am proud of that.

But deep inside, there is another dream growing quietly.
A dream where one day someone says,
“Oh, yeh Neha ke parents hain.”

That shift. That circle completing itself.

I think this is a dream every child carries.
To stand on their own feet without forgetting the shoulders they stood on.
To build a name that makes the people who built you feel proud.

Last evening reminded me that Success is not just about recognition.
It is about who is watching when your name is called.

Someday, I hope my parents will be standing with me on the stage too.

P.S. It brought tears to my eyes while writing this post.

We’ve all heard this line before:

I’ll get back to you after Diwali.

A few months ago, one of our clients said the same when we reminded them about their pending GST reconciliation and ROC filings.

They weren’t ignoring us — they were hesitating.

Because for many business owners, compliance feels like something that can wait.

A week turns into a month.

Diwali turns into the next financial year.

And suddenly, what could’ve been just tax of ₹5,000 becomes a ₹50,000 problem with tax, interest, late fees and penalty. 

Here’s what I realised that day 👇

People don’t delay because of the cost,

they delay because of confusion.

They aren’t sure why it’s important,

what the real risk is,

or how it’ll affect them later.

And that’s where our job as professionals really starts —

not just filing returns, but removing confusion.

Because uncertainty isn’t harmless.

In compliance, it compounds — just like interest.

So the next time someone says,

I’ll get back to you after Diwali,

remember — clarity today saves chaos tomorrow.

Uncertainty in compliance is just like uncertainty in business.  it delays action and increases the cost. The solution isn’t pressure. It’s clarity + education.

Just the other day one founder asked me - Why should I keep doing all the compliances on time and keep my books clean…? Is it really paying me back…

And my answer to it is - a 100 times YES.
A clean balance sheet does not just reflect numbers.
It reflects intent.

It shows a founder who wants to do things right, pay vendors on time, file compliances honestly, and build a business that can stand scrutiny from anyone, whether it is a banker, an investor, or the Income Tax Department.

Most people think compliance is about ticking boxes.

But founders who care know it is about building trust.
✅ Transparent books show discipline
✅ Timely filings show responsibility
✅ Accurate reporting shows long-term thinking

These small things create big signals to investors, employees, and regulators that this business means business.

Every audit, every ROC filing, every GST reconciliation tells a story.
And behind every well-prepared one, there is always a founder who understands that financial clarity is brand credibility.

Because at the end of the day, numbers may be presented by professionals,
but trust is always built by founders who care.
