As an intellectual property attorney in Alston & Bird’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group, I focus my practice on litigating patent, trademark, trade dress, trade secret, and licensing disputes in state and federal courts and before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). I also represent clients in post-grant proceedings in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), including inter partes reviews, post grant reviews, ex parte re-examinations, and covered business method proceedings. One of my focal points is the development and execution of worldwide patent and trademark protection strategies. I counsel clients on potential clearance issues, including freedom to operate and right to practice analyses, and conduct and handle responses to due diligence pertaining to investments and acquisitions. I also assist clients with the prosecution of patent and trademark applications before the USPTO. While in law school, I served as an intellectual property extern with the U.S. Navy Office of the General Counsel, Naval Surface Warfare Center. During my externship, I helped inventors identify patentable elements of their inventions and prepared and prosecuted patent applications.
