Take a step back, help others rally around a common goal. Support them, give them opportunities. Coach and help them level up.

You are focusing on:
- mentoring and helping others level up,
- doing good code reviews,
- unblocking the team with planning and creating tech specs.

By doing this, you are making the whole team better and faster as well.

– They drive their own growth path (no waiting around!)
– They spot problems AND lead the solutions

But here's the thing - there's so much more to becoming that go-to engineer everyone trusts, relies on, and gives the best opportunities to.

Hearing one of the smartest people I know constantly say: 
“I don’t know, but let’s dive in and figure it out.” was a huge unlock for my own mindset and growth.

Now, I’ve made it a personal mantra:
Look dumb sooner so I don’t look dumb longer. 🧠

This mantra/mindset has helped me grow massively in my engineering and leadership skills these last 5 yrs.

– Helped me dive in and learn new technologies
– Helped me ramp up and be successful in an oncall rotation
– Helped me lead large scaling efforts in projects with millions of requests / hr

It’s counterintuitive, but saying “I don’t know”.
+ following up with “let’s figure it out” ownership...
