Formerly -> High-Rise Residential Design and Project Architect, BIM/VDC Manager. Now -> Estate Planner & Financial Advisory Representative. It was a big change in my career path. So, why? I was a retail investor looking for more viable investment options. When I started my first job in 2006-2007, I realised I needed more control over my life. At that time, it meant to me that I needed to get out of the rat race, as early as I could. So I started "researching" on how to achieve Financial Freedom. Several of my early lessons about money came from the books, Rich Dad, Poor Dad & Cashflow Quadrant. The concepts from the books encouraged me to start investing and to build an alternative income stream. In 2009, I was diagnosed with brain stem tumour. After being hospitalised for 7 months, and out of active job for 13 months, I learned life's hard truth:-having a job doesn't equate to income security. I was in a way, lucky, nevertheless. I did survive the 4 brain operations I went through, and took a few years getting myself back on track. Having an alternative income stream helps, greatly. And since I was now un-insurable, the only way was to self-insure. I needed a way to build a sustainable income source that doesn't come from an active job. Some people call it passive income. To me, it's just self-insurance. By end of 2019, the timing felt just right. The stars have aligned, and I saw an opportunity. I decided I wanted to promote financial literacy & investment knowledge, and to help friends & clients make good financial decisions. -- If any of these (below) resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. :) - You're a very, very busy person. Even though you know financial planning is important, you cannot afford the time to sort them out, or you always end the day feeling just too tired to even think about it. (You just need to outsource the financial research work.) - You want to invest, but you aren't sure which investments to purchase because you fear buyer's remorse. Or you don't know where to start, or what to look at. (You just need some guidance.) - You're approaching retirement, so you wonder if you have sufficient savings to exit the workforce. At the same time, you also fear you might outlive your savings. (You just need more confidence and assurance from a 3rd party's objective eyes.) -- In any case, let's connect! https://cammietan.com/ #askcammietan -- Disclaimer: https://www.finexis.com.sg/fc-disclaimer.html
