Crafting stories has come naturally to me since sofa cushions were rocks protecting me from the bubbling lava that was my childhood living room carpet. Whether making up rhymes based on my nightgown picture or seeing “what happens next” after the Lincoln Log fort was built, I’ve always loved finding new ways to tell a story. My approach to storytelling varies based on the client and, more importantly, the target audience. When copy speaks to its intended audience, magic happens. A connection is made that can do anything from evoking a memory to encouraging a purchase to bringing a smile. For me, magic happens whenever I put pen to paper or fingertips to keyboard (yes, I still do both). Whether it’s writing location-based experiences, branded licensing copy, marketing copy, web content, consumer product descriptions, style guides, taglines, creative strategy guides, or brainstorming ideas that can elevate a concept or product, adding that spark of creativity to a business strategy is a puzzle I love solving. Wrote new slogan & product descriptions. All 3 guitars sold out. • HIT Entertainment: Brand content, packaging, & marketing including an 8-sentence story from a 75-page screenplay • Dependable Solutions: Blog posts, white papers, press releases, & fact-checking Words Really Do Matter: When it comes to your brand, words truly make the difference. Me, I LOVE words. So many words from flowery words to creaky words to funny words & more. As a copywriter, here are a few words I love: • BUTTERY. A delicious word that can describe food, wine, or a feeling. Even skateboarders use it to describe a smooth execution of a trick. That’s pretty buttery. • OH. Two letters. So many possibilities. Happiness, frustration, surprise. A simple word, more like a sound, that quickly conveys your innermost thoughts. Oh, what a feeling. • YES. Yes brings joy & possibility. Yes is the answer that can change lives. From the small business loan that starts your business to that cute person who’s agreed to a first date to purchasing that product you’ve wanted to a company taking a chance on a copywriter they’ve just met.
