In 2003, I graduated in Human Resources and Psychology. That same year, I gave up my dreams to pursue my Master in Psychology and started working in recruitment. In 2005, I experienced my 1st layoff due to team restructuring. In 2011, I experienced my 2nd layoff due to economy downturn. It took me almost a year to land my next role. In 2018, I left my 6 figure salary and pivoted into a leadership position. I ended up leaving in 5 months because of a toxic environment and got burned out. It took me 8 months to recover and landed a new role in 2019. In 2020, COVID pandemic hit causing many people to lose their jobs or resign for various reasons. Like many of you, I began to ponder what makes my job truly meaningful and how my experience in recruitment and job losses can help people live their life to the fullest. In 2022, I had my 4th layoff due to company downsizing. I said to myself, "That's enough." For two decades, I have been instrumental in shaping the growth of startups and organizations in North America by recruiting top talents, and gained invaluable insights into what they seek in an ideal candidate. With this expertise, I empower candidates to land interviews that make lasting impressions and ultimately get hired. In 2023, after working in recruitment for over 20 years, I chose to be a Career Transition Coach and pursue my Master in Clinical Counseling. During my 4 layoffs, I had self-doubt, felt a sense of worthlessness, and an overwhelming fear of an unknown future. It seemed as though every turn brought with it new challenges, including illnesses and family crises. These were difficult, unwanted transitions that I never thought I would overcome. Yet, through these layoffs, I discovered a new me and found clarity in chaos. I learned to practice self-compassion. With each obstacle, I gained the courage to move forward and embrace what lay ahead. Now, I stand proud of my layoff journey and the person I am. As your Career Transition Coach, I want to help you reinvent yourself and your career so you can be bold enough to build and pursue your dream life. Send me a message on LinkedIn and let me help you build a career that inspires!
