I was headhunted for this role by the director of the seafood publication.

I trained people in this role from cold calling, pitching and proposals to closing and
aftersales. I assisted the subscriptions manager in standardising procedures and cleared up
the incentive and bonus system as well as having the best overall performance on the team.
My duties also included handling key accounts and have closed deals worth 8000 –
£10,000+ with some of the Seafood industries key players including Findus (Young’s
seafood), Birds Eye, John West, Highliner, Princes and also Non-government organizations
such as WWF and Green Peace.

April 2011 – October 2012
I was sent here to increase subscription revenue of the APAC region. I
hired people replicating standards I set for the EMEA team. Liaised on a regular basis
with the sales director to ensure targets and key performance indicators were met.
In this role I created and handled Asia Pacific key accounts as well as planning strategic
campaigns to develop new business in this region.

Notable achievements here:
● Built a team in Singapore from the ground up.
● Introduced the idea of IP tracking to reduce sharing of passwords that was
implemented across the entire NHST AS group.
● Had highest revenue from joining until I left for Singapore.
● Introduced multi-year subscriptions and group subscription concepts.

Sold hardcopy subscriptions and digital access to Lloyd’s List – at the time the leading
shipping and maritime newspaper. I consistently exceeded my monthly target, reaching my
yearly target in October of 2008. Lloyds List is now online only.
