My experience in IT covers both infrastructure (networks, etc) and software development, in different roles. This also includes some aspects like cybersecurity, analytics, with many diverse business components. But extracting insights from data has been a constant interest during my entire career. I had many very diverse positions, which allows me to make the best possible use of my previous experiences and knowledge. My main experience overall has been on software development, which was where I started, as a developer, feeling like code could change the world! (It still can, still do.) For the last 25 years or so I have been mostly working in the Financial Services industry. I am equally well working alone or as part of a team, or managing a team. I managed departments, projects and teams of many different sizes, in several industries (health, insurance, consultancy, investment banking and payments). I like both to be technical or more hands-off, as I understand I need to adapt to each role, giving my best in each one. Above all I like to bring or generate value around my activities. Undergraduate degree in Physics Postgraduate diploma in Computing Postgraduate diploma in Business and Marketing Strategy MA in Marketing and Innovation A constant along all these years has been my interest in numbers, data in general and understanding them through models, techniques from Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Signal Processing etc. Where I'm told to, or get the possibility of, I get involved with this actively at work. In the background I continue to play with all of this as part of my hobbies. Just look at the list in the "Licences and Certifications" section. Lately, maybe because of my background in Physics, I am becoming interested with Quantum Computing, from the theoretical principles to the actual programming - cool stuff! Namely when you link this to Machine Learning! Specialties: Project management, programme management, business analysis, solutions architecture. VBA (Excel and Access mostly), Python, VB, C#, and SQL with RDBMs (Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server), mostly. Also used Java, R, BPEL and many others.
