I first moved to Tokyo in 2006 as a ‘trailing spouse’, with a 5-year-old daughter. After five years in Tokyo – including one huge earthquake – we moved to Berlin, Germany. From there, we moved to Pretoria, South Africa & finally repatriated back to the UK in 2018 with a teenager (yikes!). So, I’ve had experience of both ends of expat life – there & back again!
