I’m responsible for leading marketing and growth for a small but awesome Nordic software consultancy. Though my main area is marketing, I also wear other hats. These include CRM and sales pipeline, employer branding and talent pipeline, internal events, and other initiatives that help support Verifa’s growth and wellbeing.

My main areas: 

- Create marketing strategy, including research, segmentation, targeting, positioning, and execute on brand building and sales activations.
- Manage brand refresh, developing website, distinctive brand assets and guidelines.
- Manage content marketing & SEO (blog, podcast, social, newsletter), and effectively distribute and repurpose for maximum organic reach.
- Set up and manage CRM and sales pipeline, develop sales narrative, feedback customer insights, and ensure timely follow ups.
- Run, analyse and optimise Linkedin paid ad campaigns, so far resulting in 64% decrease in CPM and 117% increase in campaign goal.
- Use marketing analytics and growth dashboard to monitor, measure and report on marketing and sales results.
- Achievements: €300k (33%) of new revenue in 2 years from marketing activities, 130% increase in website traffic over 1 year.

It was my first time joining Business Unplugged as they celebrated their 10th anniversary last night.


An evening of on-point talks, info booths, and networking at the cocktail reception. Slightly anxious that I wouldn’t know a soul, but it was lovely to see some familiar faces (Ruthie, Misa, Monika) as well as make new connections.


🤓 Prof. Petri Parvinen kicked things off with a high-octane and informative talk on how to sell to Finns! And it’s all about trust-based selling.
- Visualization - a picture speaks a thousand words, so you don’t have to go ‘blah, blah, blah’!
- Transparency - prepare your offer in the cloud with customer access.
- Zero tolerance - what’s your business’s zero tolerance? It earns respect.
- Always in the loop - give updates, people like to feel on top of stuff (without needing to ask).
- Educate, don’t sell - ‘how’ to videos are still top, but also trainings and workshops.


💫 A great panel discussion with Laila Fe Balinggan, El-Khouri Elie and Harri Jaskari. Laila shared her journey as an entrepreneur straight out of uni. She already started doing the groundwork on her digital marketing business during her studies - market research, building a network, and connecting with potential customers. This last year, she doubled down on networking and attending events. The result? 6x ROI 🙌

She also highlighted the importance of associations when building a business in Finland, such as Suomen Yrittäjät ry. As well as valuable advice and networking, they’re almost like a seal of approval! Plus, associations like Business Helsinki are there to give valuable support and advice - use them!


💚 The final talk of the evening came from Klaus Matilainen which served a dual purpose. An inspiring story of ImpactOS, building on the legacy of his father’s work to make sustainability data reliable and actionable. And how your business can use sustainability data as a competitive advantage, it’s now much easier and less costly to be ESG compliant, even for SMEs.


💐 And last but not least, congratulations to Ruslana Kuisma, Migrant Entrepreneur of the Year, whose cleaning company, RVK Palvelut Oy, now employs 60 people.
