A very forward thinking company under the direction of Luke Spikes.  This was the first information and research company that actually built a database of all the installed software and hardware for the Times Top 1000.  A searchable database for marketing and sales people to segment the industry based on real information.  I had a number of roles while here.  It was a fast growing company and everyone had many hats to wear.  I was marketing manager, account manager and customer trainer at times.  A great role to teach you how to market new and emerging technologies before the market realised how invaluable it was.

I took a short break from Spikes Cavell to work with Penny Power, Martin Slagter and Roger Hamilton to set up a dealer network selling multi media pc's to the home. Worked closely with Microsoft and Compaq to develop and run Family Technology nights for local schools.  We ran the business over email!

One of my favourite jobs! Great people at a time when working in IT was unusul.  I started off as marketing co-ordinator while I was studying for my Institute of Marketing Diploma. When I qualified I was promoted to Marketing Manager.  I was responsible for all the tactical marketing activities such creating stands at the annual conference, direct mail, running seminars with speakers like Jeff Buzen, Pat Artis and Frank Ingrassia (my hero).  A tight knit team that worked well and were very successful in the IBM mainframe software arena. A wonderful place to start working in Marketing.
