Our free Sniffle app allows physicians the ability to effectively diagnose non-emergency symptoms and to electronically prescribe medications, when appropriate, without the patient ever having leave their home or office.

In my role as the Marketing Director, I managed all marketing across digital, traditional, and experiential channels. I decreased customer acquisition cost by 40% and brought the company to its first month of profitability. I created creative and strategic partnerships with brands across health and wellness, medical, sexual health, and sustainable spaces, and we even landed a spot on The Today Show. We launched our first press event in Jan 2018, Year of the Asshole, which had attendees from Buzzfeed, the New Yorker, The New York Times, Vice, Inc Magazine, Fast Company, and more.

Hendrix College

I was appointed the Treasurer of the Student Senate by a student-led selection committee my senior year of college.  
-Attended weekly executive meetings with Dean of Students and Director of Student Activities to discuss campus concerns and events prior to the weekly Senate meetings
-Headed the Finance Committee and was charged with allocating the entire student activities fund to all student organizations on campus (~$500,000) through a process called Spring Allocations. During Spring Allocations, the 85 student organization proposed their budget before the Financial Committee. The Committee systematically discusses and decides the amount to fund each organization in order to maintain a discretionary fund, which the Committee distributes throughout the year. 
-Devised an original systematic process to annually reevaluate student stipends of paid positions
-Practiced leadership, impartiality, and financial management in completing all of my duties. Thinking ahead in financial planning has also been invaluable in this leadership experience.

Previous experience on Student Senate includes apartment representative and a member on the Finance Committee.

Lab Teaching Assistant

New Student Orientation (OR) is a student-run team of 22 Peer Leaders (PL) and 66 OR leaders that help students adjust socially and academically to college. The OR team holds programs and events throughout OR week including diversity, alcohol, and sexual harassment issues. Also, each PL leads an orientation trip with 3 OR leaders and 25 new students to various destinations in Arkansas for the weekend. On this trip, the OR team facilitates new student bonding while also developing relationships ourselves. In 2012, I was an OR leader on the Mountain Biking trip in Hot Springs. In 2013, I was a PL for the Blanchard Springs trip. This year, I am a PL for the Brady Mountain waterskiing trip.

New Student Orientation Leader

Veasey Hall is one of 6 residential halls and houses 100 students, mostly freshmen. At the start of the year, Veasey Hall Council is charged with holding events primarily aimed at freshmen to adjust to college life. Throughout the year, Hall Council holds dorm and campus-wide social events as well as lead discussions on issues within the dorm. In coordination with the Residential Assistants, Hall Council acts as a support system for individuals who seek assistance. Freshmen year, I was elected Freshmen Representative and voiced my cohort's concerns and preferences. Sophomore year, I was elected President and lead Hall Council in performing all duties and communicated with residential life.

Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital & Solove Research Institute

Dr. John Byrd M.D. runs a lab at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center with research focusing on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), potential treatments, treatment resistance, and diseases related to CLL. Summer 2013, I studied the effects of Ibrutinib on the activation of T-helper 17 cells, which play an active role in chronic graft versus host disease (cGVHD). My work cited me as a contributing author to a paper currently submitted to the Journal of Clinical Oncology. I returned to the Byrd lab this summer and am working to develop a T-cell vaccine against Ibrutinib treated CLL patients by augmenting the T-cell response to Ibrutinib as a foreign molecule.Working on a translational research project and facing the high expectations of a highly productive lab made my summers in the Byrd lab exceptional experiences. I was fascinated with immunology after taking the course at Hendrix prior to researching in Ohio. After expressing interest in immunology, I was paired and worked directly with Dr. Jason Dubovsky. Every day in lab, he pushed me to be independent in my research by guiding me in my projects but requiring me to develop my own protocols for experiments. Through this, I learned to think more creatively, scientifically, and independently while enriching my lab technique repertoire. For my summer 2012 project, I found that Ibrutinib inhibits T-helper 17 activity by isolating T-helper 17 cells, treating them with Ibrutinib, and checking for activation by flow cytometry and cytokine analysis. This work allowed me to be listed as an author in Dr. Dubovsky's paper, "Ibrutinib Treatment Ameliorates Murine Chronic Graft-versus-Host Disease." From this experience, I am confident in my own abilities to independently read into literature, create, and conduct experiments.
I presented my work at statewide and nationwide conferences, including the 2014 and 2015 annual American Association for Cancer Research conference.

Undergraduate Researcher

Arkansas Children's Hospital Nutrition Center

Summer 2012, I was accepted into the Arkansas IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) Summer Research Fellowship and returned to research under Dr. Martin Ronis. I studied the effect of genistein, a soy isoflavone, on alcohol induced bone loss in a male mice model and continued to research as a volunteer into spring 2013 after the fellowship ended. Genistein was found to increase bone turnover but not protect against total bone loss. I presented this work and won 2nd place poster at the South Central SOT meeting and presented at the annual Society of Toxicology (SOT) meeting on a SOT Undergraduate travel award. I published this work the following school year as first author.

Arkansas INBRE Research Fellow

Dr. Martin Ronis' lab in the Arkansas Children's Nutrition Center focuses on pediatric nutrition and bone health. Before senior year of high school, I volunteered in his lab and studied the Rank Ligand pathway in the progression of osteoporosis due to osteoclast activation. During this first research experience, I practiced basic lab techniques. Through treating cells lines with ethanol and various inhibitors of its metabolites and analyzing gene expression, I found that specific NADPH oxidases play a role in the RankL pathway. I presented this work at the Arkansas Science Fair and won 2nd place in Molecular Biology and 1st place overall oral presentation for the Arkansas Junior Academy.
