I worked with the Ministerio de Educacion, Cultura, y Deporte as a language and cultural ambassador to the United States and the English language. My main responsibility was working with children, adolescents, and adults and helping them improve in their English skills as well as exchanging cultural lessons. It was my role in the classroom to create engaging activities in English for the students. Some of these involved presentations, hands-on activities, and discussions. 

I served as an assistant and support to English and Bilingual teachers in primary and high schools and an adult learning center.

I worked with CopyPress as a location independent Copywriter. I created engaging, searchable, and informative descriptions for hotels across the world. While working at CopyPress, I wrote articles and blog posts for Hipmunk, a website for travel booking, to inform readers about a destination and about available lodging in that area. I collaborated with managers and editors to create at least 5-6 hotel descriptions a month, as well as larger projects, like City Guides, 3-4 times a month.

- Wrote 6 articles and 5 city guides for Hipmunk, a travel booking company

Copywriter

Cassianna Spa

During my time at Cassianna Spa, I first worked as a Front Desk Manager and later transitioned into both the Front Desk Manager and Marketing Assistant. At Cassianna Spa, I was responsible for handling all customer service and satisfaction between clients and employees. It was my responsibility to organize and keep track of the appointment book, handle all monetary transactions and record keeping, and ensure that employees knew their schedules for the day.

Later transitioning to the Marketing Assistant, I worked to create a successful social media presence for Cassianna Spa on Facebook and BlogSpot. I posted daily to the company's social media sites, create marketing collateral (ie: brochures, fliers, etc) and planned events to boost sales. One event that was very popular was the Customer Appreciation Day. As the lead for this event, I created a marketing schedule, marketing collateral, and organized with senior management on how to implement this event.

The people call it an origin story - when a protagonist or antagonist has a memorable moment that changes their trajectory. In my case, I call it ancestry 💖 

I call it lineage.
I call it legacy.

My ancestry begins much before my origin story, a big part of which starts with my Bà Ngoại (maternal grandma) ✨

In the 80s, she sold gold to sneak my great-grandma, mom, and uncle onto a Chinese shipping boat to leave Vietnam. She turned her home into a Vietnamese catering business - filling the house with smells of bánh cuốn and hot oil, frying crispy egg rolls. She built up businesses, provided for her kids, and selflessly cared for her grandkids.

My Bà Ngoại made brave choices that have culminated into my origin story and stories ⭐️

And if you’ve ever consumed my content, been inspired by my story or a story I shared, felt moved to take action… or wondered ‘how’ - well, now you know.

Indirectly, you have met my Bà Ngoại - felt her spirit, her courage, her care, and a piece of her love.

💖 My ancestry extends to yours...

When my grandma passed early in March, we found hundreds of photos in her apartment which turned into a personal project to collect, organize, and digitize more than 200 photos from my mom and dad's side of the family.

I saw photos of my great-great grandparents in Vietnam, aunts, and uncles in refugee camps, their arrival to the USA, up to more recent photos of my youngest cousins (who are only 13 years old) - if you think about it, that's 4 generations spanning 100 years of MY ancestry, my family's stories... our culture, tradition, and choices. 🌟

I know it's a little 'cheesy' and 'cliche' to say that death really puts things into perspective, yet... it's true.

Looking through memories from both sides of my family, documenting photos and stories... uncovering untold stories of refugee camps, arrivals to a new country, and familial secrets...

Gave me a much deeper understanding of what legacy truly is - how our choices today impact so many generations to come, how one life touches SO many others, and really... how we are all interconnected. 🫂

Your story intertwines with mine in some way shape or form 🌱

For April and beyond, I am intentionally taking steps to live life to the fullest, show up as my best self, do meaningful and impactful work, do my part to make the world a better place and live out my legacy. I hope you'll join me, too. ❤️️

Let's say you've got mindset blocks 👀  what type of mindset work do you usually do to overcome those?

Here are the tools I use when I'm running into fear, scarcity mindset, etc. (I am open to trying new modalities and tools, so leave your recommendations below!)

⭐ EFT Tapping

Probably one of my favorite modalities, I love tapping on videos from Brad Yates or Gala Darling on anything from 'raising my vibration' to 'being a money magnet'.

⭐ Journaling

Loveeee me a good journaling session! As part of my morning routine, I usually set aside about 30min to journal and brain dump all the mind drama I'm having - which helps me start the day with a clear mind.

⭐ Working with Oracle and tarot cards

While I am no professional, I love using my oracle and tarot cards for messages that come from my higher self or even my ancestors ❤️️ I usually pull an oracle card every morning and use that as a starting point for my journaling practice.

👉 Side note: If you want to build your thought leadership, I definitely recommend finding a tool to return to when starting to publish content, sharing your story, or deciding to be more visible. Thought Leadership is a fancy word for the LinkedIn world that sounds *flashy* and *cool*, and while it is... it is also a personal development journey.

LinkedIn Thought Leadership Stats | Cassandra Le

3 (personal) tips to use LinkedIn to your advantage for growing your thought leadership or speaker journey:

🌐 You are the subject matter expert.

Many of my clients feel they need lots of ‘accolades’ or ‘media features’ to start showing up on LinkedIn and sharing their perspectives - not true!

If you’ve found a different way to do something in your industry, have personal experience and insights, and certain things piss you off that you want to change… you ARE an expert in your subject matter and can share about it.

(Personal content performs the best, not just statistics and numbers… although those can be used to support your POV)

*Sidenote, would anyone be interested in my opinion on why adding stats is like a safety crutch for BIPOC thought leaders? 👀

🌐 No time for creation? Connect, instead.

Do you *need* to create content on LinkedIn all the time to stay relevant? No direct answer here, it’s more of a nuanced response.

If you don’t have time for content creation - set aside time to connect with folks across the platform, instead.

This can look like commenting and engaging on industry peers' posts, sharing thoughtful responses to interesting posts of others outside your industry, or finding a few people to reach out to and get a coffee chat with.

🌐 Personal stories are more impactful than generic ‘a-ha’ moments.

Unfortunately, the generic ‘a-ha’ moments just don’t cut it anymore… (you can blame the fast-paced growth of online content and ‘personal brands’ and AI for that one)!

Instead of sharing generic ‘a-ha’ moments, try to infuse a personal story into your content to tie it back to why THIS helped you realize XYZ.

Extra points if you can tie it back to your industry! ⭐⭐⭐

I’ve followed all of these tips to build my own profile and thought leadership, which has led to:

>> Aligned leads reaching out, wanting to work together
>> Being asked to speak on podcasts, events, roundtable, and panel discussions
>> Finding collaborators and partners who’ve helped my business grow (or mentioned my name in different rooms)

6 things you won't find me doing in marketing 👀 

😬 Write copy and content without a Brand Message Handbook

Without a Brand Message Handbook that lays out a brand's voice, personality, tone, and messaging - writing ANY copy and content is hard and ends up making the brand sound inconsistent.

I always start with a Brand Message Strategy Session to hash out what the brand message is, how the brand sounds, and the voice. This applies to personal brands and thought leaders, as well as business entities.

😬 Start a marketing campaign without clear objectives

Just to be clear, 'getting as many people to buy/sign up/join as possible' is not a clear objective (sorry to be the bearer of bad news)! I like to set up objectives around brand awareness, conversions, and engagement - these are 3 areas that I think cover quantitative AND qualitative pieces of data we can build on in future campaigns.

Also good to note that setting your own objectives and not ones that you see from other brands is probably going to be much more rewarding.

😬 Create content for the algorithm instead of humans

I will stand on my soapbox and repeat this as many times as necessary. I understand optimizing content so that it performs well on certain platforms (ie: short, vertical videos on Instagram... longer thought pieces on LinkedIn... etc.) but I will NOT create content to feed the algorithm.

Creating content to build a connection with humans (aka clients, collaborators, partners, etc.) is where brands can see long-term success.

😬 Rushed marketing campaigns that are "last minute but still fabulous ideas"

Well-thought-out and designed marketing campaigns, whether paid or organic, require TIME to plan, build, and create (as in there are a lot of content pieces that go into a campaign).

Depending on the type of marketing campaign, whether it's a launch, brand awareness, or brand activation campaign... I like to have at least 2 months of prep before going live.

😬 Put effort into making one piece of content go viral

Yeah, idk if I need to explain this one but this is a hard pass for me. As someone who's been in the content game for over 10 years, putting THAT much work into making one piece of content go viral without supporting content (aka a Content Hub) for all those *new* people to scroll through, consume, and find is not sustainable...

😬 You won't find me referring to humans as the business or vice versa that the business is 'you'

This one is for all the personal brands out there who refer to themselves as the business and that your business is 'you'. While I understand the thought process and the sentiment behind this, I find it problematic because it emphasizes the output of work and productivity of the human...

Yes, we work... but at the end of the day, the business is the work you do not *who* you are... did I just get super meta there?

3 most common copywriting mistakes I see on websites:

👉 “I” vs. “You” / “Me” vs. “We”

This is a common one in ALL copywriting - focusing too much on the brand/business itself rather than speaking directly with your ideal clients.

This can also be seen in copy that talks in 3rd person to your ideal clients (ex: using ‘they’ to describe your clients instead of speaking to them directly with ‘you’)

When the website copy is TOO focused on the brand/business, it doesn't create any connection for the client.

👉 No call-to-actions

Ooh - another big one! No one asked (lol) but I believe there should be at least one clear call-to-action (CTA) on each website page.

They don’t have to always be pointing to a sale… they could ask folks to subscribe to your newsletter, check out a blog post, view your latest portfolio, or something else.

Please don’t forget that CTA!

👉 Lack of storytelling

Compelling, fantastic, scroll-stopping copywriting tells a damn good story - it doesn’t spit out facts (although it can incorporate them into the story)...

Many times I see website copy lack a lot of storytelling that could make the brand stand out, be funny, get snarky… all of it.

Did you find that you’ve committed these three mistakes? (To be honest, I’ve also done them, too)

One easy way to fix this is to set some time aside to read through your website copy and check to see if there are CTAs on each page and if it’s clear where you want people to go.

4 types of long-form content to build your thought leadership 👇 

I know it seems like posting on social media (ie: LinkedIn) is the easiest and fastest way to build your thought leadership, but... it might not be the most sustainable - especially if you've got a lot to say about your area of expertise.

Here are 4 other content mediums for long-form content, that can also help boost SEO and open up opportunities for OTHER income sources aside from services:

🌟  Blogging

If someone comments and tells me blogging is dead, YOU'RE WRONG 😜 

According to DemandMetric, "Companies with blogs produce an average of 67% more leads per month than companies that don’t have active blogs" - the SAME can be applied to thought leaders and personal brands.

Your blog can serve as an archive of content that people can return to for years... and can be the start of your brand awareness funnel.

🌟   Podcasting

Another GREAT form of long-form content that also helps boost SEO (if you take your podcast transcripts and turn them into blogs 👀 ). 

Podcasting (either solo or with a co-host) is a great medium to dive into the nuances of your expertise and your opinions - something that social media doesn't always allow us to do.

🌟   YouTube

Probably one of the more complex content platforms out there, producing videos on YouTube is a great way to build thought leadership!

Wyzowl, in 2023, shared that "YouTube is the most widely used video marketing platform" - and not only is YouTube a marketing platform, but its algorithm is optimized for SEO!

Video content is one of the fastest ways to create a connection with your audience because they can see you, hear you, and get a taste of your personality.

🌟 Newsletters

Newsletters are DIFFERENT from email marketing, folks! 

Starting and growing a newsletter is another great option for long-form content for thought leaders. Not only does it create a personal and more intimate connection with your audience, but you're actually the owner of that content (and not letting the algorithm or other tech get in the way of reaching your people).

Newsletters can serve as a more intimate touchpoint for your audience and where you can share more nuanced reflections, recommendations, etc. 

Although your newsletters may not be SEO-optimized, I would consider this platform lower in your marketing funnel and as a place to cultivate deeper connections with your people.

3 signs it’s time to re-evaluate your website copy:

👀 Your conversion rates are dropping

If you have Google Analytics set up, this could look like a spike in visitors landing on a specific page (ie: your services page), but you’re not seeing leads fill out your contact form or book a sales call.

👀 Your website traffic has plateaued

This is more of a 2-way analysis where I’d ask you - are you pointing leads to your website?

And are you producing SEO-optimized long-form content to generate new leads?

Website traffic plateauing means fewer people are going to your website to view potential services or book a sales call, and if your website copy is unclear on the website - they’re not going to convert either.

👀 Customers are confused (or even potential leads)

What I’ve seen happen is a potential client loves your vibe, energy, and connects with you. They want to know HOW they can work together…

So they’ve booked a sales call or have contacted you about working together and have very many questions on… “what can we do together because I know I like your work, I’m just not sure what you actually do.”

This means your website copy is NOT clear and your services are also not clearly laid out on your website.
